For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi All I'm really new here. My son arrived Monday in GL for his 8wks I don't know all of the abbreviations so is there a place to find out? also My son took CS and will go to sub school also so I m hoping to connect with another Mom out there or from CT that may be in his unit, Thanks

I have a question for you veteran mom's (wives/gfs/etc) out there (probably a silly question). What is the percentage of our sailors getting on ships? My daughter really wants a ship, really a sub. She does not want to be land based (at least that is what she says now)

Oh yeah you only get 10 days, don't waste them!
My son also said that their shoes HAVE to be extra shinny there so that takes a lot of his time too. They also have to go get account for like 2 times a day, "muster". GL was a chill place now it will be more hectic. But good thing they won't be there long.

I can't imagine myself missing graduation and I told her about the idea one of you had on here about driving back and she said she would rather not waste the days driving. We are about 1,200 miles away.

He said it is much stricter and that they have to be in bed by 10 and can't go anywhere without checking out, every time! The mini vacation they had in GL is over, now they will be mixed with other military personnel, they have to get up at 4 AM to work out. My son always sounds tired and wants to sleep in for the weekend, before he was excited to go out and explore the city now he just wants to rest.

Thanks, I will tell her that. How is it different? I know she talks about how much more relaxed it is there at GL than it was in BC

My son left first thing in the morning on 3/25 but he said others left gradually throughout the weekend.
He also said it is completely different from GL and that he would rather had stayed there! Tell your daughter to be prepared for the change.

Mine graduated on 3/17 and is set to leave for VA tomorrow I think.
