Mari'sMom- I was the embarrasing mom sobbing and crying hysterically at the MEPS the day my son left. I was absolutely devestated. It took me a while to come around and now I still cry but I'm really happy for him and his decision to join.

KC's father died when he was 21 days old and I've had severe separation anxiety when it comes to him ever since. (if i seem a bit crazy). Navy for Moms has helped me a lot because no one else would just accept the fact that I was devestated. A lot of moms on this website were able to understand my emotion.  My friends would just say to me " you should be proud that he is joining the Navy". But I've always been proud of my son, so those words meant nothing to me. Now I understand why they would say that, but it never helped at the time. I have to admit though, I guess I am even more proud than before (if it was possible) that he is in the Navy. Especially to be a CTI!!

Big hugs to the current BC Moms!  Those 8 weeks feel endless but you have lots of love and support from your fellow Navy Moms out there.  This too shall pass!!!

My daughter just landed in Chicago for BC.  She took her cell phone with her so she could call me when she got there.  She officially belongs to the Navy now.  We saw her off this morning- amazingly no tears from any of us.

Now just to wait for the address, graduation, and finding out what language etc.  What an exciting time!

So happy for all of you who are getting close to seeing their children again, my journey has just started, but it is good to see the day does come when you get to see them again.  Hurry up 8 weeks, you are taking too long.

Olivezick- I know, right? I cry every single day thinking about him. I can't wait. The KC countdown app says I only have 2 days 7 hours 9 minutes 2 seconds!!  My son is so independent and strong. But me???  Ugh, can't stop crying. But at least they are tears of joy.

Oh, I just cannot believe I will see my son in 3 more days--so excited! We get to "keep" him for 13 days! Here's thinking good thoughts for safe travel for all our sailors and/or their families who are flying/driving to be together for the holidays.

Mari's Mom - my son just graduated boot camp 11 days ago, so I can so relate to what you are feeling and what you will be feeling.  Definitely find the group with all the mom's who's kids are graduating the same day.  When you get the first official form letter it will tell you what division your daughter is in and what day she will graduate.  There will be a group called PIR and then the date of grad.  If you've been on N4M for a while, I'm sure you've seen them.  That letter sometimes takes a couple of weeks to make it to you. Also, after a week or so her recruiter should be able to tell you.  Lean on those mom's.  They will be going through all the same things you are...I couldn't have made it through with all my sanity without these dear moms!  I'm also happy to talk to you anytime, send me a message if you need to chat.  My son is starting his language in Jan. (or so they tell him) and working on getting settled and used to life at school.

Best of luck today - Hugs from So. Cal!!
