Hey CTI moms and wives, just got a call from my husband in boot camp saying he knows what language he got. It was the exact one he wanted and I'm septical of that. Will it still be that at the DLI or can it change? Also he said he MUST live at DLI until he phases up to phase 3 does anyone have any info on the phasing stuff?

Debbie - I'm in Maryland too, 18 miles from Annapolis. Looks like we're in for a little rain this weekend.

the dust bunnies..... so they thought they were gonna do good this time around... well the guy inspecting pulls the refrigerator (they still haven't used) out from the wall and found "dust". hahaha. I swear, if I pulled my refrig. out from the wall right now Lord only knows what is back there. Think I'll try it this weekend.

Oh, the boot camp days seem so long ago already!! He is wearing civilian clothes again (after 5pm and on weekends) and he doesn't get yelled at anymore. The room inspections are BRUTAL! My goodness. I had no idea how bad they have it. Uniform inspections are tough too, but WOW. He and his roomate never used the mini fridge or the microwave in their room yet and they got marked off b/c it was 'dirty'. ??? I loved this one.... He got marked off b/c his pillow had a head imprint on it "as if someone had been laying on it". True, my son was resting in bed just before they came in for inspection. Apparently, one must flatten and straighten their pillow upon erecting to an upward position! hahahaaa. But, besides the inspections, A School sounds like fun!

Small world indeed!  My son's friend is a Nuke and his mom was telling me about a recruit that came into his division after an ankle injury and I just knew that had to be your son from the CTI forum.

yes!!!!!  He broke his foot and was held up 6 weeks.  He had PIR 7/29.  He missed his 1st scheduled school start date so he has just been doing other odd jobs and taking a college course while waiting for the next class to start.  His school starts mid september!!! What a small world, huh. A school is wonderful (for me, anyway!!) I can write, email, text and call him every day! I try not to call him, but I ask him to call me every few days. I text probably no less than 10 times a day.

KC'smom, I think your son had the fractured ankle (?) and he ended up in PIR with my son's best friend on 7/29?

Hi All - My son left for BC on 8/23 and will head to DLI after PIR.  I have been "lurking" on this sight until I was officially a Navy Mom which I guess is now!  There has been a ton of great info which certainly has eased my anxiety.  Big thanks to you experienced moms that share so much with us newbies!

I did hear that Fort Ord would probably be where we will stay.  Does anyone know anything about it??? BTW, we are down to one car.  Is this going to pose a problem?
