KC'mom, I sent you a friend request. My son has been assigned to Aircrew. He graduates DLI this month. I just wanted to talk with someone who has been through this. He did not volunteer for this, but apparently if you are the top of the class in PT and language proficiency, you are chosen for it anyway. Thanks for any info on what to expect.
I have a question for you senior NM's, my daughter is going to BC the end of this month, rated as CTI. I've read the OPSEC and PERSEC advice/rules and have tried to follow them even now, (no personal pics or names) but she herself hasn't read them, she's listed her "job" on fb as CTI in Navy. Should I explain the OPSEC and PERSEC to her now (probably won't work, very stubborn) or does the Navy do this in BC or at DLI? Do other CTI's not list their rating, do they not list their base/ship etc for security or do they? I haven't looked anyone up to find out. and thanks for all the advice, I'm really glad to have this site.
Dee; Yay! Go Cougs! :) when does your SR leave? mine leaves the 7/28, I'm getting nervous/anxkous/and so proud at the same time.
Thanks everyone- I know she'll get it worked out.. she has a bright future and won't jeopardize it for anyone!!
Praying for wisdom for your son, NavyDaughter/Mom!!
Just found out that my son's final will be next Tues/Weds (July 8&9). Only one thing I can do to help him right now....ask for prayers and good thoughts! He's worked so hard and I know he is so nervous! I'm sure that he will do good...but I'm probably just as nervous as him. He's scheduled to graduate on the 17th!
Yea its against the rules, she needs to stand up for herself and tell her roomate whats what and shes not putting up with it, she needs to have privacy to work and nor come home not knowing what to expect, Im sure there are cheap hotel rooms for that kind of "partying"
Ok Ladies, here's a situation I haven't seen here yet! My daughter got a new roommate a couple months ago. As we were skyping last night, the roommate and her BF start going at it on the top bunk all in view of my daughter's laptop! She had her back to them as she was setting at her desk. When she saw our reaction, she turned around to see what was horrifying us and became embarrassed and moved position so that we wouldn't see them. She says that the BF is there all the time and obviously these two have no shame as far as making out in full view of any one in the room! I told her to nix it a.s.a.p. because if it makes her uncomfortable and interferes with her life, that is absolutely unacceptable!! What can she do to ensure her privacy and sanity??
Dee, I am from Washington state but root for the Cougars!! I have Siberian Huskies though, that's the Huskies I like, I know, kinda confusing. :) Where are you from?
