KC'smom, I'm going to be asking too re THE Fort!  My son grads in October from DLI. Now he pays almost a grand for a two rm. garage appt. in Pacific Grove--that has NO heat, but a tiny wood burning fireplace. He's a fleet returnee; not allowed to live at the Presidio. What is considered expensive around Ft. Meade?

Sailor moon - I live 1 mile outside Ft Meade. Ask away! And yes it is expensive here. And getting congested around Ft Meade - but there are some beautiful places within 30 min from here ( Annapolis for example ).

Hello im New to this site, I'm not sure what's Allowed and not aloud to write about CTI. My sailor is going threw finals this next two weeks; If all goes well, graduation is in May and already got orders to MD. I'm super nervous about the move, since it will be my first move. Does anyone have any advice about housing 30 mins from Fort Meade? We are all super nervous, stressed out, and holding our breaths, there is so much tension. I just want this testing to be over with.

I'm sorry to hear that your son will be leaving DLI, but I'm glad to hear that his stress level is lower now.  God Bless him (and you) for serving in our Navy.  I hope that he does wonderful in the next step of his journey!!

It's been wonderful sharing this board with all of you while my sailor has been at DLI. He is awaiting his orders for a ship as this rating did not work for him. He will never be 6'4"! He has been re-rated. His stress level is much lower now. Thanks for the time!

Navy CTI Moms,

For those of you that might not be aware CIDU Monterey has our very own Facebook page.  It's a good place to see what's going on at the command and in your Sailor's lives.

Master Chief Bailey, I asked my son, who is now at DLI, if he knew you, he said of course and that he has said hello to you a couple of times. He will be going on a total immersion for a month later this month. So excited for him. He is doing very well. Although a bit homesick/lonely I think.

I really apppreciate Master Chief Bailey, for posting your comments and thoughts on this site. You have answered my deepest concerns regarding my sailor at DLI. Thank you for your service to our country and our sailors.
