Safe travels ladies! Congrats to your sailor Lili ship on a successful DLPT. A huge accomplishment to be sure! Lisa and Greenoak, looking forward to meeting you both in Monterey.
Thanks, beckmcs. Apparently your guy is more forthcoming with info than mine. See you there! And I totally screwed my dates up! In less than a week we're flying out. Two weeks to graduation. You were probably wondering what the heck I was talking about, beckmcs.
OPI - check
DLPT - Monday and Tuesday
I will be so happy when next week's testing is over but am certain my happiness and relief won't compare to our sailors!!!
We will be there too, cant wait!
In less than one week I'll be watching my guy graduate. He's taken his OPI. He didn't score as well as he wanted, but he more than passed (WHEW!!) I don't know for sure when his class takes their DLPT. I know he is going to miss all the wonderful friends he's made in CA. But on a selfish note, I'm going to be so glad to have him closer to home. I know there is still a lot of hard work in the near future for him and his shipmates. But I'm sure it will be a great relief to have this part over.
Christmas 2012 my son had 2 weeks off from DLI. Of course winter in Reno delayed him from getting home. I will check with him and see if I can find out more. Your son was not at DLI this past holiday?
I need some information. My son is in Monterey and should graduate the early fall 2013. We are planning his sister's wedding. Does anyone know if the winter break schedule is the same as A School? He will be going to Cryptology School when he finishes in Monterey and we are trying to plan a December Wedding.
These same guidelines apply to other social networks such as facebook.
And even among your friends and family. As hard as it is, don't tell people when your sailor is deployed on a sub or a ship. Don't tell that he/she is a cryptologist--if you have to say something, say linguist or translator.
And please don't identify the language associated with your sailor.
It is a good idea to go through all your posts and delete anything questionable/unnecessary.
Click the "x" or hover your cursor over the upper right corner of your comment box to be offered the opportunity to delete your comment.
My sailor even says to assume my conversations by phone and emails with him/her are monitored/recorded.
Please be careful. As they said in WWII, "Loose lips sink ships."
