I just learned he is taking another test on Monday. They have different dialects and I guess can get paid a bit more if they pass this other test, although it doesn't matter cause I'm just glad they are all graduating :-)

Momkaw1513, my daughter just graduated 1/25.  She arrived in Monterey a week ago and I don't think she starts classes until end of March. So I am a newbie here too.  I know she loves being there and is very excited!

NYRican- I am a big cryer. It's awful and let me tell you... I was sobbing even before and after the ceromony. Everytime a teacher was introduced to me and she or he told me how wonderful my son was I would just start sobbing again right in front of them. I couldn't even talk. I was that way at PIR, too. I looked around at all the other parents and they were all looking around watching the ceremony and I was crying like a 2 yr old.

Congrats to your sailor and all the others!!  So exciting.

YEH! my sailor called yesterday to give me the news that he passed his test and so did everyone in his group I think. He told me the tears of joy were flowing like crazy in his classroom from the instructors tot he students. Can't imagine all the emotions in there. So happy for them all. Can't wait for his graduation, I'll be the one crying as I see him give the speech, awwwww

We are going to graduation...He's worked so hard for this.  I can hardly wait.   My husband and I were in Monterey in May, so I have seen the area and it's beautiful.  I look forward to taking my daughter and my mother this time.  We are all very proud.  I know what you mean Lisa, they mature very quickly when under such pressure.  Have a wonderful weekend ladies!

Thanks, Dee.  I was so totally impressed that he got all the testing and paperwork completed for his AA.  That kid has a grown up A LOT since he left home a year and a half ago.

We wouldn't miss it for the world, Greenoak.  Does anyone know if they'll hand out the degrees to those who completed their associate's at the same ceremony?
