I'm guessing that the proficiency test?
Noni, no they are not in the same class or language. Reid starts Thurs. Oct. 11th. He's 40; beginning his 8th year and will no doubt be in class with mostly kids half his age. I'm still not comfortable with saying what language, since you never know about security.
Reid'sMa,
I talked to my son yesterday. He thought your son might be in the large class ahead of his, but maybe not. Marcus's class has been reviewing English so far. The Persian Farsi basics start tomorrow. My son has said the same as yours - most students are fresh from BC & being treated the same is frustrating, especially considering where he came from. Oh well, the 'fun' begins tomorrow.
he classes up Oct 11 finally. he's bored fending off spiders in his apt.
Noni, I think your returnee and mine are in same language. Since he had to pass physical and reenlist, he couldn't begin a class the next day. paperwork takes time....
My brand new CTI is at the Naval Aviation School at Pensacola for part of his training for Aircrew. When he 1st arrived on Sat. they gave him a terrible time and yelled at him for everything and sent him to a dorm for asking a question. Now that his class started yesterday, he is allowed to stay in a hotel room! (yes, with a maid). It's on base. That means no room inspections and no roomates. My poor boy has been in nothing but a hard bunk with someone underneath him for 18 months. I'm so happy for him!! Sadly, this school is only 4 weeks and then he moves on to "torture school".
Welcome to all the "new" moms. I've been a little busy lately. So I haven't had much of a chance to visit this site and keep up with who recently got to Monterey. My guy has been there for almost a year now. So if you have any questions that I might be able to help you with, ask away. I can't promise I'll have the answer, but I'll try my best to find it.
right now there are about 35 sailors on hold (not classed up) and the powers that be made them all come out for Reid's reenlistment last Wed. He said it was a bit embarrassing! Can't wait to see what language they put him in. Nothing's final till the day!
Maybe so TammySue. I don't know enough about DLI! I know about subs and destroyers!
