Noni, bc I get the impression from him and from this site that most of the school is sailors straight from BC. This is his 3rd enlistment and is still in the "holding" group until mid October --but he had to leave San Diego in August to report to DLI. Do you know how to friend me?
Reid's Ma,
My son is a fleet returnee. He was undesignated in SanDiego. Got to cut his delpoymt short to go to DLI. Thanks goodness! He starts classes this Thurs.
Why do you ask?
He will meet and make lots of new friends out there! The military is like a frequent graduation from high school-- except that with the net they can now stay in touch! and possibly meet up again. Best of luck to him.
Again, are there any family members of fleet returnees on this site?
So every single member of the Navy from my son's graduating class moved onto their next state. They all went to the same place of course, except my son. I feel so bad for him. He has to go to a strange school for just 2 or 3 weeks and then another school for 2 weeks and so on and so on. Not knowing a soul. He had made such bonds with his Navy classmates at DLI. But because he is Aircrew he doesn't go on with them. He looked really down about that. Even his 2 closest friends who are the only other 2 people being deployed went on to the next state with everyone else. Right now he's on the rode driving from Monterey to Pensacola. I was wondering- can you moms ask your sons or daughters if they ever get to meet up with their old classmates after a deployment ( back at their assigned base)? I know he will eventually go to his assigned state/base but don't know when.
I checked his papers, he is a CTT, thanks for info!
My son is CTI, with PIR Oct. 5, going to Corry for a school. Anyone else with that PIR?
We went there also, its beautiful but a bit scarey near the edge at places, there was people taking pictures very near there.
KC'mom, we went in June and my daughter kept saying bring a jacket, but I thought, San Francisco in June no way is it going to be that cold, guess who had to buy a jacket!
