Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Question for the future....

My son has enlisted and has accepted the rate of CTM....yea. He will be going to RTC in June 2014. Assuming everything goes well and according to plan, he will then be heading to Pensacola and/or Correy Station, thereafter. I've read many posts on this site about the posting locations for CTM's and many of the posts speak of Hawaii and Japan. Both of these places are wonderful, I may say. The question is this: my sailor is engaged to be married sometime after A school. How is his wife to join him on a posting to either Hawaii or Japan, if that is where he ends up? Is it possible? How do we find out how to go about finding out?

hello roaminggnome61. My son and future DIL are both CTM. They met while both being stationed in Japan. Which they both loved. She is now in San Diego and my son is still in Japan. They are getting married in Dec as long as my son's leave gets approved. Your son will get leave after he has completed all his schooling. But normally in order to recieve orders that allow a wife to go they would need to be married before he gets orders. Especially if he ends up going out of country. Also if I am remembering correctly I think they need to be e4 to have family with them in Japan. For anywhere in the states it should not matter but I could be wrong. In my son's class a lot went to Hawaii but also San Diego, Washington state, Norfolk Virginia. So it just depends on the needs at that time. My son finished top of his class so he got to pick. He wanted anywhere out of country to be able to see the world which he is doing. We supported him fully so he could see things we would not get to. 

Also once they are done at BC they go to NAS Pensacola for the ATT class. Which is advanced Electronics. Once that is done then they go to Corry station for ctm class.
