My daughter's room has a mini fridge, mini freezer and microwave. They have a little kitchenette that they share with two other girls but the appliances (stove, microwave, fridge) have been disabled....as they are not allowed to use them. She's in the BEQ (bachelor quarters), as are many CT rate girls. I know there are other living quarters there, but I only saw hers. Hope this helps.
Krspies they should already have that stuff in there room I believe. They can't have anything with an outside burner like a coffee pot.
Are they allowed to have microwaves or mini fridges in their rooms in A school?
salpetty, I think that is true right now. My son graduated A school at the end of Nov. 2011 and was holding. He is a CTT who just got Orders about 3 weeks ago for Washington state. He will be on the aircraft carrier John C Stennis which is just coming back from a long deployment.
Great, thanks! I guess that he won't have C school, but A school lasts until July 5th and then he'll be finished.
The Chief was telling this to a class of CTTs and said that CTT billets had opened. He actually said, "I have some great news for you guys but don't get your hopes up too soon." Right now there are a lot of CTTs in holding. They've all finished their schools and are just waiting. So those billets will most likely go to them first. I'll find out more when I can. I did ask her if she had heard about other rates and she said she only knew of the CTTs.
Just CTT? My son is CTN and will finish A school at the beginning of July. Do you know where they were?
My daughter is too. She just classed up yesterday :)
Wow that is awesome news. My son is currently in his C school for CTT.
This isn't official but I just talked to my daughter and she said that the main Chief came into her Shipboard Ops class today and said that the phone had been ringing off the hook because a bunch of CTT billets just opened up. Which means that a bunch of people who were on hold may start getting orders soon. That's all I know. But see? Things in the Navy can change at the drop of a hat.
