calliecl- yes- I remember him telling me of where others were headed that got orders and one was San Diego- but fwon't mention names here- San Diego was another place he put in for on his Dream list- He passed in the 90 % ranged but not top 90%.

Dee- congrats on getting contact with your son.

Beachyblonde- My oldest son moved from Whidbey NAS to Jax NAS in feb and he is AT also. Maybe they know each other. He was there for 4 years. My middle son is at Corry right now.

@Holdfast: I just moved to Pensacola from Washington state because my husband is crossrating to CTN. We've been together since 2003 and he joined in 2006. While he was in his first A-school at NAS P'Cola I would drive down from Tennessee (I wasn't a dependent yet). I pretty much always stayed at the Blue Angel Recreation Park. They have little places you can rent for a day or a week. I always enjoyed it, but I haven't been back by there since then. They have a website you can check out though. I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to send me a message and I will try to help!

Craig oh knowledgeable one. Can you make sense of this for me?  My older son (just signed up for another 3yrs) has orders to Japan in March. However,  before he goes he has a 5/6mo C school at Corry starting mid Sept. He's married and they live in GA.  Now, they just found out his wife can not go to Corry with him so she's moving back here with her parents. Why is she not allowed to go to Fla with him does he not get BAH for the time in Fla?  Do they house guys like him with all the "newbies" or does the Navy have him live off base?

NavyMom4J - I bet they do know each other! My son is 4 year CTT too. He did get verbal orders for San Diego but I know that until they get written orders it can change. Would just love to plan for his leave. Wonder how soon they get to leave Pensacola after they finish C school? Hopefully they are not put on hold. It's been a long time since I have seen him.

Craig- sounds good- I will let him know. I hope that my son can eventually meet you since I live in Lakewood- and when he come home on leave I will contact you.

Look forward to your post of NIOC Denver

NavyMom4J - Tell your son to pass to his friend to look me up in Denver.  I work with the Navy and can show him some really cool stuff when he gets here...

I will post some pictures tonight of NIOC Denver in the discussion area above...(when I have time)....

Calliecl-  My sailor too is in Ship board ops and will be done end of September- exactly in the same time frame as yours-and I bet they know each other! He has not heard his orders yet either. Some of the others in his class have their orders already- the only thing I can think is maybe depending on high their score was at graduation and what their rank is depends on the order of when they get orders? Mine son is CTT r yr. His friend got Denver and he was anxious to hear where he gets to go as he wanted Denver. I have no clue- Still waiting to hear for my son too and now he said it may not be until after C school. If anyone can pipe in with some insight it would be helpful. Could be it just depends on the needs of the Navy and all the logistical issues involved in placing our sailors.
