School is only 15 weeks. He will be a CTR. I don't mind the wait, I don't even mind if he doesn't get it as long as I'm near him

Holdfast she is on my friends list. You should be able to friend her from there.

A brown bagger is where they live off base but go to school. He will have to put in for it after he gets to Nas. Then there is no guarantee and they say it takes a while to get approved. What is his rate or job? It also depends on how long his school is.

I will have to see if I can find her. I just saw something about a brown bagger status (charming phrase) anyone know anything about that from personal experience?

I know that brittany proud navvy wife lives in Pensacola now. She was pregnant also when her husband was at BC. She can probably offer you some good advice.

Holdfast - To see the phases (and a whole bunch of other stuff), go to the "Pages" area just below the various members pictures (ON THIS THREAD), and click on "Phase liberty for NAS and Corry".

NAS and Corry do the same thing, so that book applies for Corry too (or at least it did)....

Comment by HoldFast86 (Ship 12 Div 325) on August 18, 2011 at 10:39am
Ah that figures, he will be going to NAS. I'm moving down there because I will be 31 weeks pregnant when he graduates from boot camp and if there is any possible way that I can be closer so if the chance of him getting to be there for her birth then I will do what I have to even though I've heard bad things about going but I've also heard positive things. Thank you for the info, that does help. If you have more I'm all ears, well, eyes but yeah I'm kind of in the dark trying to figure out what to do
Comment by navymom3 on August 18, 2011 at 10:35am

Holdfast- Depends on which base and which phase they are in. Usually liberty is called after class is over each day. If phase 1 they still have to muster every so many hours and cannot leave base. Phase 2 they can leave base but have to check out with a liberty buddy. And they have to muster by a certain time every night. Phase 3 they no longer have to muster on the weekend so they can check out at liberty call on friday and not come back until sunday night late.

At Nas anytime they leave the base they have to check out and check back in even in phase 3. At Corry once class is over they are free for the weekend unless they have duty. Corry is more relaxed than NAS.

Which base is your sailor at?

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere but can anyone tell me once they get to school what their liberties are.
Comment by navymom3 on August 18, 2011 at 9:26am

Craig he is trying for Korea but Hawaii is also on the list. We lived there for 3 years and that is where he signed up. So we are familiar with Hawaii.

Angie he is CTM. Glad that Dan is getting settled in. My son also put Ft Meade on his list for stateside but stateside is second on his list. He wants to go overseas.
