Anyone have or had a sailor at Goodfellow AFB in TX? Just curious, I can't find any info except what the AF has on their site. From what my son tells me the barracks where they stay are NICE! It's like a small apartment with a TV and full kitchen. Is this typical of C school or the fact that it's an AF base? He is in class with a lot of fleet returnees and feels rather lost .
I have read a lot of what Craig had to say from his current and older post, blogs & replies. It helped with a lot of ?'s I had . At least on this site when I ask a ? some one will help the same day or next one. Thank you all.
mrmom- yes he was home for christmas. He took his leave between c school and duty station. He was originally told he would be there 18 months so the time he was there was good. He was going to come home between a and c school but he had gotten assigned a great job between classes and didn't want to give it up. Plus it gave more time home before heading to Japan. Only 2 from his class stayed and had c school in pcola. His friend had c school in Virginia. Both being ctm.
And like salpetty said Craig is a wealth of info. Especially for CTM since he is retired CTM.
CRF230dad THANX for the welcome!!! I was on that site for around 2 weeks or so and well, you see where I am now. lol. I started a group for ship-9 / div-85 and the other dads with sons or daughters in the same DIV for what ever reasons did not want to join or even talk about it so I jumped ship on that site. lol
I love to talk to others about my son and Navy life because it helps me and others so here I am. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU & YOUR SON!!!
navymom3 I know it's a long time at A-school, I just hope my son stays on track & Passes. lol I hope that when he graduates A-school I can bring him home to TN for even just a few days. I know that after PIR my family may only have a day or two with him but that would be a great boost for him and us as well. I hope you had your son home for Christmas...
Mr. Mom: If you are politically incorrect (as I myself am), you will love Craig, he's incorrect and innapropriate and a total crack up!!! He's also a plethora of CTT and Navy info.
MR.MOM-DIV-85 It nice to finally have another GUY besides Craig here. I'm sure Craig felt like the roster in the hen house. No disrespect intended ladies. There is very little activity on the male version of this site. http://www.navydads.com/
I have found this site to be invaluable to getting straight talk and real information about what's going on and what to expect. My son is a CTT currently in Pensacola Fl. in his C school.
Welcome aboard!
mrmom -My son had pir March 18th and finally finished all the school dec. 9th. That was ATT class at NAS then move to Corry and do a school and c school.
Time to take the 5yr old to the park and lunch. Yes I have a 20 & 5yr old. lol my wife says stay away and don't touch me lol... I wish all of you SAILORS the best of luck in life & love...
