My son left from Anchorage late on Wed. and then had to wait all day at the USO before heading to GL.  We did get a call from him just before he got on the bus and then the 30 sec. call at about 9 pm our time.  He said there were 5 other guys waiting as well.  Missing him, but looking forward to seeing him at PIR.

My daughter left Wednesday 4/3, I am so proud of her. I received her 30 second phone call that left me in shock. I thought I was going to be able to write down her information so I can start writing her but that was not in the plan. I'm constantly checking the weather to see how cold it is. See we are from GA and it does not get that cold here. I'm really anxious to know how she is coping and I just want to hear her voice. Take care and good luck to your son.

They will make sure that all recruits have the proper clothing for the weather.  What that could mean though is that they have warm coats for about 2 weeks and then the weather will get warm.  We have had over 6 inches of snow in Anchorage today and about the same or more expected by Monday morning.  Our son will be used to the cold.  No problem for him.

Hi Nina. Thanks for checking on me. I'm holding on. I'm grateful for this site knowing there are plenty of others who feel the way I do. (I'm not alone..lol.) I'm now waiting on Alexis' box. So I'm looking out the window every time I here a truck in the neighborhood hoping its the FedEx guy. I'm on Spring break and I'm not trying to leave the house until that box arrives. How are you doing?
