Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I slipped a picture in his wallet
Of all of his immediate family
His father and I
His 2 sisters and him
Taken the year he was born
With an inspiring note on the back
He's still able to text me from MEPs.
I'm waiting down the street until they let me in
:))
Soon my son will swear in
Then we say goodbye
Other families are here

Hand tight my friend. It will be ok. Video his swearing in. IF they do not know you are there for that inform someone NOW.... Watching it will make your heart soar with such happiness. I am so happy you slipped the notes in. Here for you I am .... YOU GOT THIS : )

  • I know it isn't easy My son left for BC yesterday. Just watching him get on the bus was so sad.  I  was texting back and forth with him. told him to call me as soon as he got to Chicago airport to call so we have more time to talk to all of us he got in a few calls that way. He called from Great lakes from his cell  unfortunately his battery was low so we all got to say see you in a couple of weeks.
  • What is your son going for?

I'm also hear for you if you need someone

I video taped the swearing in !!!
My son was taken off in a white airport van about 30min ago

I'm emotional but that's ok.

I took myself to an AA meeting
Because I have 9 years sober
And it will help me decompress and not have a drink or Valium
Great job! My girl left today also hang in there!

I can give you my cell number and you can call me ANY TIME , DAY or NIGHT...... You won't be heavy, you will be my Navy Sister.... I mean that.

Are you going to the airport?

@ sofora....You go girl!!!!

Good for you f or taking care of yourself!  That is what our children need us to do while they are gone!!   My son leaves on the 13th and I started running this summer to help me deal with the feelings...this last week I don't feel like moving, let alone, running, but I keep going.  I wonder if the anticipation is the worst?!

Going to the hotel and MEPs was really the best thing I could have done
For both my son and i
