my son is leaving jan 4th from new york but he is going to meps on jan 3rd

I think there's going to be a lot of snow and very cold. Does anyone know about graduation dates for those going to box on January 3rd? Also, when we (family left at home) go to the graduation, can we bring some personal items to our child? Laptop, cellphone, clothing for A school?

My son leaves January 8 for MEPS and then Jan 9th for RTC.  From what I have read so far, they cannot take anything back with them when they return from liberty before proceeding to the next part of their journey.  I have included the link to the family guide that I have found most informative so far.  http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/pdfs/FamilyGuide.pdf.

Hi Everyone,

My son left yesterday for Boot. We got the call around 10:30 last night, he sounded really good. He was looking forward to this for so long.  I have been a mess....I know I will get used to the idea, but the lack of communication is so hard. I hope he is ok!!

My son left yesterday and i received my call at 1am he sounded good and positive and said i will get call in 2-3 weeks but yesterday he insisted i take his social security card home and now says he needs it for his banking now what do i do he never listens to me i told him to hold on to it but he said he knows his number and doesnt need to carry it

We got "the BOX" today!!!  Shoes, backpack, jackets...and a note that says "Love you guys"  :)  XXOO

We got the Box too. But I am on a cruise do I can't open it yet. One step closer.
My son left California for Great Lakes Jan. 4th. His recruiter emailed me his address, said he is DIV 104 USS Kearsarge, no box yet. Anyone else, maybe our kids are together. I miss him something awful.
