Hi, I'm Alejandra and I'm new to this group. My boyfriend is leaving for bootcamp within a week and I'm so nervous! Does anyone else have their Navy sailor leaving this month? I'd love to hear about your stories :)

Hi Alejandra. My youngest daughter leaves for BC tomorrow. She's the first in the family to choose the military way of life since my father was a Marine in the 40's. Yes, it's scary, and it makes me nervous, too, but I just keep remining myself that she chose to do this, and the Navy will take really good care of her. It may not be a cushy, five-star hotel kind of life, but she will have everything she needs to be successful. She eventually wants to be a doctor, and felt this was the best way to get started down that path. Try not to worry; write plenty of letters; keep busy. That seems to be helping me get through this, and it may help you, too.
Wow tomorrow! Best wishes to your daughter and perhaps maybe your daughter and my bf will be in the same division or have the same PIR date :)
Yes; she left today. We drove 3 hours to get to see her be sworn in; another 3 hours back, plus lunch and dropping off the boyfriend. We were up @ 5:00 am and it's going on 10 pm right now; she still hasn't called, so I just can't let myself go to bed! Yikes! I hope the call comes soon; I'm so sleepy.......
You may be sleepy now but when you recieve "the call' I'm sure you'll be wide awake :D
