Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son also leaves on Aug 16th. We live in NC and he will leave out of Charlotte .

Thank you for the reply. She will be leaving out of Missouri. I am new to this all so I hope I am posting where I should. I hope to be able to talk with several mothers who will be enduring everything from a parent's perspective.

As August 16th is getting closer Im finding that I am starting to cry at the drop of a hat!!!! We are on our "last" family vacation and I saw a im a proud navy mom shirt (which of course I got) but when the sales girl came up and asked if I had found everything ok I just started crying. Thank God Billy wasn't around!! I am so proud of him but I think this is going to be one of the HARDEST things I have ever done!!! Hope u r doing well!!!

My son is leaving August 15 from Nashville, TN. We are very proud, excited and yes I am crying often. Does anyone know if the ship dates will change and if so at what point will we be notified of that? Glad to have other Moms to talk with.

My daughter leaves the 15th also from Minneapolis, MN. I haven't started crying yet...
