My youngest son just turned 18 and graduated from High School. He leaves Tues. Aug. 25.
I only have 10 weeks, so I have decided to do things fun for him. I want to make his last summer with me as memorable as possible.
Here in Texas, wild hogs are a major problem, It is easy to find a place to hunt. So, we are going "Hog Huntin'" this weekend. He is excited. Now I need to find some more fun things. We are thinking about deep sea fishing next.
What are ya'll doing this summer? I'd love to hear and maybe get ideas.

We are going on a family trip to Florida (live in Amarillo, TX) and he is going to go deep sea fishing (not me!. He is also going with friends for a week in New York. Our son leaves 8.28... maybe in the same gruop! What will be his job?
He wants to be a corpsman. What about your son?
he told the recruiter (and I cringed becasue I am prior AF) that he didn't care what his job was as long as he willsee the water when working! He will be in Aviation Fuels and is excited about being a "purple shirt". I am an RN and I have worked with navy corpsman before.... FINE training!!
My son leaves August 26...They will all be there at the same time! I am just going to spend as much time as possible with him until he leaves...He is fixing to put in his two week notice at work so he can have a little fun before he leaves.
Hi Margaret,

My name is Maya and I noticed that your son was leaving the same day as my husband :-) You are so far the only person who has their depper leaving the same day as me! Lol :-) We are spending a few days in Orlando doing the amusement parks and stuff...I don't think it has hit me yet that he is leaving in about a month! Well good luck to you and your son!
And I thought it was hard to send a son off to BC. I can only imagine a spouse! I have tried to spend as much time with my son as possible, without over doing it!
Hi there, my son just graduated high school and wanted to have some time this summer so he leaves Sept 29th. We are taking 2 weeks in September to go on a trip to the Smokey Mountains and stay at a resort cabin and go hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and white water rafting. We love the outdoors! Can't wait to go but then it means it's getting closer to him leaving. I know we will have a great time!
Make sure you take lots of pictures! I have. I want to remember him before BC!
