While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

****Battlestations*****
This is the final test for the recruits, before they become sailors. They are on a ship designed by Disney which is very realistic, as you can imagine. It is an overnight drill and they will encounter every situation that they could be exposed to when deployed. They will be evaluated on all that they have learned during bc. They go in with their division and brother division, and can have up to 4 divisions going at one time. They are evaluated both individually and in their "group" of team members. It is a night of adrenaline and excitement because they see the prize at the end! There is a capping ceremony upon the completion of BattleStations where they trade the recruit caps for their sailor caps (their actual graduation ceremony). A very emotional time for these new sailors after all of the hard work they have put in! And a proud moment for the RDC's who worked so hard with your sailors.
Each division goes through with their brother division, and possibly 2 other brother divisions, or the 800 or 900 division. Sometimes the 900 or 800 can go through alone.
Your "I'm a Sailor" call will come the next afternoon/evening in most cases, unless your sailor has watch. If they have watch, they should call you the next day. If they finish BattleStations the day before PIR, they may be allowed to call earlier in the day. We recommend that all have their cells available all day for that call....in your bras is a good place to keep it so as not to miss it! :-)
They can start Battlestations the Thurs a week before a Friday PIR. They don't go through on Fri or Sat nights because of Captains Cup on Sat. But they can resume on Sun-Wed nights. Depending on the size of the PIR group, they don't have to go all of those nights. They start with the lowest numbered divisions and go up through the highest. Something a Chief said about BattleStations:
150-300 SRs go through at a time, 3-10 will fail and have to repeat, and the most important thing is TEAMWORK. If the SRs keep their mouths shut, listen, and work as a team, they should pass.
The brother divisions in this group are:
59+60, 61+62
803 and 911 can go randomly

No, NavyMomKim....he will be in the first group to go with Div 59 (brother division). So I think he meant that they go on Thurs, the 27th, a week before his PIR. There IS a PIR the next day...but it's not his! :-)

My son is Div. 62, I just hope he passes everything along with all his team mates. It is so....I can't even find a word to explain how I feel. I just want it to be over and be there at PIR and be able to hug him(he gives the best hugs!) and sit with him and just look at him and chat. I know I am probably not making any sense but I don't really think I have since he left for boot camp! I just wish all our boys the best of luck and I can't wait to meet all of you and your sailors!!!

I felt the same. I miss him so much too.The house is not the same since he left. I received a letter from him yesterday..His A school is still in Great Lakes. He passed the tests and inspectios he said. He is doin fine. They even get kind of comfortable now and relaxed..sometimes. He made new friends in his group and they get along good.Some were really home sick he said but are doin' fine now. They're actually enjoying boot camp now and can't wait to graduate. They looked awesome in their uniforms he said. I can't wait to see him. To hug him. He is still my baby. God bless to all of them.

My son just called and I confirmed with him that his Battlestations will be Jan 27th...NOT the night before PIR. I knew that didn't sound right. The Navy is tough but not cruel.

Keeping my fingers crossed for 803!!! Can't wait to get that call!! The only call my son had, I wasn't home so he called his girlfriend! I want to hear his voice!!

So the only group going alone is Div 911. So I think that must be when 803 goes... right? All the other days have 2 divisions going. Why wouldn't they tell us when they are going? If everyone else knows?
My son also said they will get a call the 1st!! So lets keep the phones close:)

Luckydux: I have been hoping someone will tell me about 803. They may go with 911....or they could go with the 2 divisions on either night. We just don't know. So if anyone hears, post on here and I will add them to the schedule!

diannep~ A lot of our SR's wrote to tell us they would be getting calls home on the 1st. So we are just trying to figure out when they would do Battle Stations. Why do they not tell 803 but tell the other divisions when they go?

luckydux: Sorry, just saw your post. They will be doing Battlestations starting late night Jan 31st and completing them in the early morning of Feb 1st. It is up to the RDCs in each division as far as when they tell the recruits about BattleStations...but the fact that they get to call home on the 1st gives us the date! They are on the schedule now.
