Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Hi Mom's
My son is scheduled for PIR on 2/4/11 an assigned to ship 11 div 061. I could not find any groups for moms who's sons are assigned to ship 11 div 61. Sooo I am hoping we could get together here and compare notes from our sons. I dont know much about this division, I have read from other moms that certain divisions mean certain things. Well I hope to hear from you guys :)

Hey all, so I got lots of letters today, they were upbeat for the most part. He got perfects on his inspections and he is now a leader for some stuff. He also passed his pfa despite a minor ankle injury. He did mention them possibly getting set back, but i think that is all talk. He said there are still ppl not pulling their weight and he doesn't understand why. Let's just hope things get better from here.

Im so glad you have good news. Im looking for anything to make me feel better. Were hoping its all talk too.
They were supposed to get a call last night and didnt...that worried me even more. They need to get rid of the trouble makers already.. i think without them our guys would be flying high...its a shame.

My name is Jamie. I was definitely bummed we didn't get calls last night...maybe sometime this weekend, i'm not sure. I just hope people start working together better and like i said I think them talking about setting back the whole division is just talk. I don't think it will happen

I think you are correct. I feel with 88 boys and girls from all over the usa all in one> Hard! Some are smarter some are stronger! And with all the Holidays. Damn! God Bless them. Learning to be one! Thats how I feel! 2/4/11 Looking forward to seeing our children!

Good evening! I received two letters today. My son said everything is finally coming together. Gets along with everyone! He said actually we all just exchanged emails. lol Also said they are coming together as a team. Team work is totally expected! Loving it! I laugh! so proud! Although he said days are alot longer . Nights are shorter, but worth it! God Bless our Sailor recruits! Must be so hard! xoxo

michaels mom--- so glad to hear that. I remember watching a video of an officer on you-tube ( this was right after my son left) and he was explaining bootcamp to young recruits. He said that they will be thrown into a room and made to live with 80 strangers...most of whom you would never even think of hanging out with...but by the 6th week, you will be wondering how in the world your going to keep in touch with everyone..
I thought that was so sweet. I hope its true....Glad to hear the good news and you should be proud !!

2/4/11 Can't come fast enough!! We are all so ready to move on to the next phase! My dad told me he really doubted they could keep a whole division back. He's probably right. They have so many other new recruits to move forward and that would mess them up. Just scare tactics! I sure hope it works for the ones not conforming. I would love our sons/daughters division to earn some more flags!! Hoping for a call this weekend. The phone will be with me everywhere we go. Even in the movie theatre today. I don't care how loud it rings in there! I'm not turning it off. Have a good day ladies and keep the prayers going for our SR's to be doing much better soon.

jamie--a few of us have heard the same thing..idk..im so disgusted. I just want them graduate already. This past week has been hell for them, i guess. I guess they missed a few flags and then got one taken away. My son is so upset, his last letter was terrible. Has you BF said anything about some guys goofing off? I guess this is whats going on, and the whole division is paying for it..its a shame. All this is doing is putting a sour taste in our SR's mouth. My son is starting to doubt himself...i hate this....
I just want it to be over and they get the hell out of there. My son is soooo ready.

Yes, my SR said people are just goofing around, he said it's like they forget they are in bootcamp! He is so mad cause he has been doing great on everything and has been working so hard, he is so scared that they are all going to get set back because of the group of slackers. My SR is not taking this well at all, and I feel so bad.
