Hello All and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hadn't seen a group formed yet for our ship, so I thought I would start one (Ship 02, Div 911 - USS Reuben James (PIR Feb 4, 2011)) so we all can be in touch! We have a special connection with band, choir, and drill team!  It will be great to share our experiences, stories and plans to meet up for PIR in Feb!  I'm a new Navy mom, and missing my daughter greatly right about now (as I am sure we all are missing our loved ones!), but am so very proud.  Let's chat!

Graduation day is just around the corner!!!  Exactly 4 weeks until PIR!  Can hardly wait!  HooYah!

Who of us are planning to be at the M&G that the Ramada Inn hosts (ours is Thursday, Feb 3)?

Some info I have found:

The Ramada does the M&G regardless, they are not connected with the Navy, they just do it as a service.
02/03/2011 from 6-8pm in the bar. Heavy appetizers are served.  Many PIR groups call and ask to move it to another room...the bar gets dark and loud after a while. Also, many PIR groups go to the Ramada then plan to meet elsewhere for dinner…Anastasias, Flannigans.

I am so looking forward to meeting all!  Less than 4 weeks away!!! Woohoo!!!

..

??? ;)

Wow, now that we're half way there time is flying by!! I'm so excited:)

I know!!! Me too!!! ;o)
We are all getting so excited April!!
Okay gals ... I FINALLY booked my flights!  That just made me even MORE excited!  Now, I just need to nail down the hotel and rental car arrangements... ;o)

what airline did you book with Sherry? I started to pack a few clothing items for my son so he can be casual in the hotel

room. Sweat pants and tshirts...lol. I am getting so excited now. Still no letter tho :-(

I started getting things together that I know my girl would want me to bring with me.  I also thought to bring some sweats for her for the hotel room, but I'm afraid all of hers are going to be way too big for her now!  I hear she has lost so much weight (and she was already pretty tiny when she left!).  Hang in there ... you'll get your letter this week! (Maybe even two!)  ;o)
I bet my son has lost tons of weight too. I might have to buy a pair of pants for him. I'll take a stab at it. I bet he looks like a real string bean now. Hopefully more muscle, besides that giant brain he's carting around.....lol
I'm back amongst the living!  WOOHOO!  Feeling better, thanks for the notes you guys sent.  So what's new?  Where ya been?  Who'd ya see?  What'd they say?  No zebra scarves?  WHAT?  Aw, sad day! :)
