Hi, Kimmylu! The unknown IS scary! As long as I know what's happening/what to expect, I can usually handle it! It's the unknown that drives me nutty! ;o)~ Even though I can't wait for my girl to move on to A-school so she can have her cell phone and laptop to communicate with me more frequently, I think I'm gonna kind of miss her letters!?! (Just a little bit! I still much prefer hearing her voice at this point!)
Hang in there gals ... we're almost to Great Lakes to see our Sailors!!!
Wow, Shelly! He's really been through it so far, huh?! A pulled hamstring is painful! But it sounds like he's a really strong, tough guy ... (not to mention competitive!) ;o)
What I tell my kids when they ask "Are we there yet??" ... almost!!! It's just around the corner girls!!! 2-1/2 weeks from now I'll be on a plane headed to Great Lakes! Woohoo! ;o)
Hey families! Got my letter this week ... FINALLY! ;p She sounds like she's doing just fine!! Sharpshooter ribbon (Yeah!) ... the division has won two flags as of the date of her letter (1/13/2011) -- one for theeir drill inspection and the other for thei PI, WTI (?) and zone inspections -- and they were working on number three! Said they are sooo close to flagging for their second test scores -- they need a 4.0 to flag and right then they had a 3.97 ... were waiting on the scores for 4 others that still needed to take the test. They still have a final PFA to get through.
She has an awful cold right now ... terrible cough and very congested. Said she's nervous about the gas chamber... not too looking forward to it! LOL! I can't blame her for that one! ;D It was great to open the envelope to HER countdown! ... 18 DAYS LEFT =) she wrote! Well... it's closer than that now!!!
She said they got their "pre-order" orders for A-school. She will be out sooner than we originally thought!
Robyn -- Thanks again for contacting Kathy for pictures of her Sailor's PIR yesterday! I am sooo excited to take a peek at those pictures for a hope of seeing my daughter! ;o) I "talked" with a dad on FB yesterday whose daughter is in this division ... told him he should check out those graduation pictures that were posted on the RTC site ... he saw his daughter in the choir, all dressed in her Navy dress blues!!! How proud he and mom must have felt! It looks like he just recently joined N4Ms and I'm hoping he and his wife will stop on by here and join in the discussions!
It's sooo exciting folks... LESS than 2 weeks away to see our "SAILORS"!!!
