My husband is coming home. They said that the joint between his collar bone is not right. They told him physically therapy would be 6 months to 12 months depending on how fast he improves. He decided to come home and be with his family while he heals. Thanks for all the support. Things happen for a reason and we will get through this.

Valerie2088- Yes I have noticed that he has been able to get a phone call in every weekend and i have had a random on during the week as well. It is sometime hard not to be angry with the fact no x-rays have been done, but were just hoping the physical therapy does not make in any worse that it already is. I am trying to keep him positive and giving him the motivation to still try since I know lately he has been so depressed and angry and feeling like a failure.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I am sure it was a difficult thing. Did she take a medical discharge or did she quit before they gave her a medical discharge? How is your daughter doing now?

Were at the point that if its not better then he will come home and he does have his degree in Criminal Justice to fall back on. We wll still have to figure out our benefits and living, but we have always fought through our struggles and have made a loving life for our little family. Whatever happens, happens for a reason. :)

Thank you so much for you words of encouragement! It really help to have support through some tough areas.

Hi NavyWife2010 - I'm so sorry to hear that your husband was injured during the early part of bc. The division is probably 2341, not 341. However, while in RCU, he should be able to call home every weekend - the one and only bonus of being in RCU. Double check with your husband when he calls home as well as with the recruiter. I know the stress and frustration you and your husband must be going through. I hope his shoulder improves quickly. They should do some x-rays which should determine whether it was an old injury or not.

My daughter was in RCU for 2 hip stress fractures and after 4 months of being in Great Lakes, she was finally sent home. It was devastating to all of us, but we now believe it was not the path that was meant for her to take.

Hang in there and think, breathe and send positive thoughts. This will help you get through this difficult time.

My husbands recruiter gave me the address of Ship 06 Div 341. However, I finally got 3 letters from my husband that had th Div as 2341. Does anyone know if this means that the letters I sent wont get to him or they will, just a delay maybe. My husband injured his shoulder a week and a half into boot camp, however, the physical therapy is not working and only making it worse. I have not heard anything about tests being done. They just think it might be an old injury... but, to us it is a new one since he has never injured his shoulder. There is a chance that my husband may be coming home if they don't see an improvement.

Lou, I haven't been on this site for quite a while. I am so sorry to hear your son was so close to the finish line and his knees couldn't handle it anymore. My heart goes out to your son and your family. How is he doing? I know how this is making me feel, I can't imagine how devastating this must be to you and your son. My daughter was finally put in a new division a few weeks ago and is due to graduate on 6/25. I have been praying so much that her body is able to keep up with the final exams in BC. I hope to hear back from you and pls know your family is in my prayers.

Bad news here. My son is being sent home. His knees are killing him--he tried to hide it, they pulled him out of formation because they saw him limping. He had 1 fitness test & battlestations left. 3 DR visits last week, they finally said he needs to go home for 6 months of therapy. He & we are crushed. His new PIR date was the 21st, after 4 1/2 wks in RCU. We are anxious to see him (he left 2/22) & get him to my civilian orthopedist for a good diagnosis. He should be home in the next 10 days. Don't know yet if he can try again in 6 months, depends on what is wrong. : (

I will! Maybe they will call tonight! Either way, I'll give you an update and ask her about Sarah too. Hang in there! Oh, how long has Sarah been in phase 4 so far?

Hi Kim,

I did hear from Christine on Sunday - it was so great to hear her voice again :) She said she was taking test 2 on Tuesday and had another DR visit on Thursday - hope both go well. Just got a letter from her today, dated Sunday, so nothing new. So funny they are both going to be MM's and that their beds are next to each other. Darn her, she hasn't mentioned anything about her friends except that her schedule is insane and when they head back to their beds at night she doesn't even want to write anymore - just sleep. Did Sarah already take test 2 or was she also taking it on Tuesday. I'm hoping to get another letter on Friday with the news. Otherwise I'll have to wait until Sunday. I will ask C about her new found friend in tomorrow's letter!!!!
