Tina-Was talking to my son as I read your message.  He said the NEX right outside the gate of Oceana is one of the nicer ones he has been in. Not that he has been in that many but at least 3 or 4 others.  With his flying it may be more.

I heard from my son on Friday and he will not be able to make it home to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. I'm sure he would appreciate a good meal for Thanksgiving. This will be his second in a row away from home. Last year he spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in boot camp. This year he will be working the weekend after Thanksgiving. He was not very happy about that!

Does anyone know if there is a decent NEX near Oceana. Trying to think a Christmas presents.

Val-I just talked to son.  There is a young couple from Michigan, they have a small child and they are not going to be able to get home.  He is going to check with them and see if they would be interested.  He hasn't heard of anyone else but will keep his ears open.  Actually the wife of the couple is a member of this group.  You might friend her, D's wife.  I don't know how often she spies on us, but it might be worth a try.

I can check with my son. I know he and DIL are coming home but he may know of someone that isn't.  Will let you know.  Glad to see some people on here talking again!!

Miss you guys when we get quiet.  We seem to all do it at the same time.

Do any of you have sailors who will be at Oceana at Thanksgiving and might be looking for a place to go for a family meal? I got an email from someone who does this for sailors and wanted to know if I had knew of anyone who might be interested.
