my son often ate off base, subway is the closest...on base......if they have a vehicle, there are other places that are pretty close off base......according to my son, it's not much better on a ship lol.....needs lots of seasonings......it's pretty bland

wow mimi its that bad? My son was telling me that they take $300 a month out of his check for it.

My son said the same thing about the food. Its horrible.

He came home Thursday night then had to leave this morning since they called and said he was on the schedule tonight. Well I got to have him home for a few minutes for my birthday.

Are hickies frowned upon in the navy??

That's funny about the Psych Hospital.  I have a minor in Pysch!  Major in Biology and what am I doing now??  I am office manager for a Cemetery!!  May explain somethings!

Tina-I can write a letter or two.  I am in the middle of sending pillowcases to my nephew's Marine division in Afghanestan (see group called Heads at Ease), but should be able to handle a letter as well.

Have a great weekend Ladies!

I would love to write to a recruit!
Comment by sjtina on September 1, 2011 at 9:33pm
BTW I have a list of recruits that are in BC now that need mail. If anyone is interested in writing to them let me know and I will pm you the list. I keep in touch with the bootcamp moms and once in awhile thier recruit will give them names of others who havent been getting mail. I am sure everyone remembers how important that was. They PIR 9/23 so there is still time for a letter or two
