We live close to the Jersey shore and heard its taking the direct route toward us.

My son is living on base and doesnt really know anyone yet. Will the navy get him out or will he be on his own. This is his first hurricane so its possible he may take this as a joke and head to the beach. But he is told to leave then he will listen.

The quake was felt here in Pittsburgh too.  My son said a senior officer walked through the door just as it started.  I asked if he sang 'I feel the earth move under my feet' to him and he laughed.

He said he hadn't heard anything about moving the planes yet.  They were waiting to see if it changed direction.  I know the ships from Norfolk are heading out to sea.  DIL's aunt is going on one.  Posted pic of seabag all packed and ready.

He did say that all he has left is a tsunami and a volcano eruption to complete his natural disaster list!!  and all in the 6 months he has been at Oceana!!

I did warn him that the water wouldn't run down hill to the river there like it does here.  Unless you live in the valleys you don't have much to worry about here.

By the way Holly-Yes that is your best work to date.  I am still laughing!!!  Good thing I am the only one in the office!!

Holly you have been busy with the pics, I love them They are perfect for today. Congrats on that honor of treasurer. I keep telling my husband that I feel like I should be doing more, especially since I have 2 in the Navy. I did volunteer at the Navy for moms booth at the Army/Navy game last year. Talk about cold. brrrr
