Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Party coming up!! August 7 2011 Navy Families Meet & Greet Potluck with Rear Admiral Scott Sanders
We have a PARTY to plan!!
Rear Admiral Scott Sanders, deputy commander for US Navy Second Fleet is coming to Arizona and wants to meet US! He is also mentor to NOSC Phoenix and has asked to meet with Navy and military moms and dads when he visits Arizona for two days next month. The Executive Officer of Navy Operational Support Center Phoenix has asked us to host the event for RADM Sanders.
The event will be a pot luck at the Bass Pro Shop near the 101 and Rt 60 in Mesa. They have a beautiful meeting room that looks like Ernest Hemingway's library, where honorees have included a former Vice President, and they have offered it at no cost. RADM Sanders will be coming from the 1:10 pm Diamondbacks game where he is scheduled to throw out the first pitch, so our event will be from 5 - 8 pm. So far we have for our potluck:
- Apricot Pecan Canapés - Chile Verde - Creamy Cukes (or Western Beans)
- Oriental Chicken Salad - Chicken Shishkebabs - Fruit Tray/bowl - Cake à la Jane - Chipotle Coleslaw (or Strawberry Salsa)
If anyone would like to call & tell me, email or fax their recipes, I'll print them out and place copies by the dishes - I know I like to be able to go home and make something I've enjoyed at a party :)
