Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Before the empty nest, what were your favorite meal times? Did you have big Sunday dinners? Who all got together for special meals? What did you like to cook the most? Did your sailor like to cook, and if so, what?

I will say I do miss the days when I cooked big meals and the kids were home, even friends! We didn't have a big meal every night but at least 4 times a week, in between sports! I started keeping a recipe book many years ago filled with the kids favorite things in it, so when they grew up and had a family they would get a copy of this book to share with their own kids. My son(sailor) loves to cook and is pretty good at it. He always made our anniversary dinner for us, he went all out! My daughter is going to culinary school this fall and she has a wonderful knack for it! I'm excited to be a guinea pig! I think we always had fun when it was Sat or Sun mornings, friends would stay the night and my husband and I always feed the kids a big breakfast. Boy those kids could eat!! I miss those days.

We always kept extras on hand, never knowing if one or five kids would be spending the night. It was fun.. Taken us almost two years to get used to cooking for just the two of us. I only cook big for church groups now.
