Hello, my son is heading to Fallon soon. I figured this is the best way to keep informed as a mom, plus any info I can get to him would be great. My husband is driving out here with (good father son time) . Are there any good hotels near or on base where he can stay until he flies home? I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Ok, we're here and on base! Still unpacking, our stuff got here about two days ago. I'm figuring it's gonna take a week just to get the main stuff done, and probably two or three for the smaller things. Hopefully not much more though. Anyway, I tried to add you, JHenderson, on facebook! I'm here and still getting used to the area. Wasn't expecting snow within the second week of us being here, but it did indeed snow. Crazy. I haven't been to Reno yet, seems like most of the things are that way. Shoot me a message on here if you want to hang sometime!

hey everyone-so glad to see this group. My son has been in Fallon for about a year. He lives off base, so I enjoy hearing about the things going on. My son is not well.lets say the greatest in talking on the phone...maybe the typical guy in comparison to my friends who have girls. Anyway love reading about all of the stuff going on at the base.

Hi all. My husband got stationed for Fallon. We will hopefully be arriving around early to mid October. I have loads of questions about the area. Did any of you/your family have to go through isolation training? Do you live on base? If not, what are good neighborhoods? If you do live on base, is it true you can't show PDA's at all while on base?

Also, what is Fallon like? There really aren't that many members on this site, I suspect because it's an airforce base. But I'd love your opinion of the area. Anyway, any answers would be mighty appreciated. Hopefully I'll be seeing some of you soon.

And her "head mate" is going to be someone she knows from Pensacola, who will be coming in on the 29th.

Our daughter arrived in Fallon yesterday.  It sounds like she has a nice room on the base.  She got to meet her chief and some of the people she will be working with.  She reports for work on the 29th.
