For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Yes, they do not earn the title/rate until they graduate from A school so in your case that will be 5- 8 months from now.

My son is an ET. He's attending A school in GL.Hopefully,only three weeks left until we find out his C school!

Susan, when you say (hopefully) three weeks left - does that mean he has five weeks of class left? From what I understand, they get to go talk orders when they have two weeks of classes left. Has he talked about where he hopes to go next?

Mary, He told me that he would be finished in three weeks, so I guess he will be talking orders sometime next week. Boy, that sounds good. He is hoping for somewhere warm. He is a true Floridan!!! He was interested in meterolgy and he did mention communication and then I even heard him say something about working with seals. So, I would say he is undecided.

See - that's what I was thinking. Isn't it exciting, if he has three weeks of school left - he could as early as next week know what the future holds for him!!! Here is a hint for you, they go on Wednesday am for orders. At least they did before the holidays so perhaps next Wednesday - you will get a big surprise!
Millye's daughter Claire is also an ET (I think she graduates this Friday) and she has orders for Meterlogy class in Mississippi. -

Thanks, So glad you wuestioned my statement!! I am so excited now!! I really am surprised though, seems like he has really flown through his schooling. He PIR'd on August 1st and is almost done, just unbelievalbe to me. Thanks again Mary.

Good for him Susan - he will get out of GL sooner than most! Doing the program in 5 or 6 months is very do-able.

Josh was told he's ET, a bit early for that though, as he said he has FCC classes first, then ATT, then "A" school???

If they told him that he is an ET and is in school now (done with boot camp) then he will be an ET upon graduation of A school. He'll have SCC, ATT and then A school. About 5 - 8 months of classes in GL depending on the student's pace and any unforeseen complications.

Mary, what is SCC? He was trying to explain over the phone last night but our connection wasn't the best!
