We are in South Dakota so she will be going further away from us when she goes to Dahlgren. We have another daughter that is at Dam Neck, VA for Intelligence Specialist "A" school. I see a trip out east in our future.

caitlyn's my oldest daughter.  the winter didn't bother her much, she lived in north dakota for a little over a year.  she used some leave but cut it short (to save it) since she was coming to va soon.

Nice place to live:). I vacay there often. We are from Virginia. He would be about 2 hours from us if we are lucky enough for him to be stationed there. Im sure...is it your sister, Caitlyn, hated the winter there. Matthew is not looking forward to winter in Great Lakes. He said he sees alot of shoveling snow in his future;/. It appears they are there about a year with A school and awaiting orders for C school. So, did she use her leave she acumulated to visit you in July?

Christy,

i live on the outer banks of north carolina.  i'm about 4 1/2 hours away from her, which beats 18.

she came home for a week before christmas but went home to spend it with her husband (they are divorced now) but my son and i went up to visit in march.  then she surprised me in july for our birthday (we're twins, i was just born first) but cut that visit short (left 2 days after our birthday) because she had gotten her "unofficial" orders 6 hours before she came home.

I private messaged you, lkbmom.  Thanks, Deb...I thought I had read that somewhere.

Duhduh and Lisette:  Where do you live?  I hope my son goes to Dahlgren for C.  He will be super close to us:)  Did any of you visit yours between BC grad and Christmas?
