Thanks. My son started A school yesterday. He was excited when he seen a video on C Wiz. (I know I'm probably not spelling it right). He said mom that's a big gun. I hope I get to work on those.

Good my son will be happy to try another place that has steak. Were sending him a care package today. He wanted oatmeal, beef jerky, popcorn, and nuts. My son is getting bored waiting for A school. He doesn't like to have nothing to do

Thanks so much for the info. We will definitely visit Savanna House. I'm going to ask my husband if the room has a kitchen. I'm sure it does he always gets us nice rooms. If it has a oven I will make him a nice cooked meal. Then Savanna house will be breakfast or another nights dinner. I'm just gonna be happy to be with him where ever we decide to eat. Ha Ha. We visited my son for boot camp graduation and went up also on labor day and all he wanted to eat was steak. Boy can he eat. I thought he had a hole somewhere with the amount he ate. My husband was in the Army and I thought he ate fast but boy my son eats faster then him. Ha Ha. I asked him r u eating good in the Navy because your eating like your starving. He replied it taste so good mom and he even got dessert. Ha Ha

We live in Imperial, Ca. next to El Centro. Were about 11/2 hours away from San Diego. He's made some friends already but their a lot older and go out and do things he can't because he's only 19. My husband made the hotel arrangements so I have no clue. I know its close by though. He gets to stay with us while were there. When he first left I had a very hard time. When i got the first phone call when he was in bootcamp it was a relief. He has a cell phone so we text a lot and now he has a laptop and we skype too. Hopefully that will make him less homesick. Weve been looking at flight for Christmas already too. I'm glad to have other moms that feel like me. Where we live it never snows. It sometimes snows in the mountains but that about a hour away. So this is going to be a cold winter for him.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading all the post you ladies have been doing about the wonderful news of your sailors. This is my first post kinda shy and I thought it was about time to post something. My son just graduated from his ATT school today. He's having a hard time being away from home but besides that doing great. Were going to Great Lakes to spend Thanksgiving with him to cheer him up.  Were from California. Just waiting now for A school which is still in GL. Congrats to all of your sailors

NavyBluMom --- generally ships stationed in Japan have "family and friends" day.  Where the shipmates can invite guests to come on board, tour the ship, have lunch and they take them out in the Bay.

Had a friend here in GA recently fly to Yokosuka to do the event with the USS Geo. Washington.  Her boss was very generous and paid for a round trip ticket for her.
