OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I would have thought they would get inaugation day off as well but apparently that is not the case. On the flipside as long as holds are right now...seems like they would have been in class today!!!

ah married life - watching the budget, smart. I can see a 3 day weekend but a four? Caught me off guard too. Nick called this morning and apparently they are having a 4 day weekend at his new school as well.

No graduation from ATT, he will receive a certificate of completion but his next graduation as an ET will be at the end of A school.

Be nice Kellie!

Congrats Mickey!!! It is SO nice to have ATT wrapped up! He will probably muster on Tuesday am and be told to report to class - they don't usually waste anytime between those two classes, they want it to be fresh. He will enjoy his four day weekend even more now...I'm surprised you did not make the trip to GL Kellie...did school get in the way or...are ya just an OLD married couple now?!! LOL

You folks in FLA are so thinned blooded!!! LOL

Are Command Master Chiefs like the mommas of the ship - not meaning to insult any CMCs!!! It seems that our exposure to the CMCs this year has been so warm and inviting to the new sailors joining the fleet. Like they REALLY do care about the sailor :-D

We haven't used our fireplace in a year...that COULD change tonight!

Kellie dear - you are married to a Sailor now - you won't get to live in FLA forever...go ahead buy that winter gear!! LOL

Jackie - I think it is nice (?) that his ship is calling him already. Have you/John been to the ship's website yet - they post alot of good information for new shipmates joining the ship.

The administrator for this site posted a response to some of the spam concerns - it's available for all to read on the main page if you can too but I've copies just two lines from it:

Group admins can make their groups private so that members have to request to join the group. Admins can also disable group messaging so that spammers cannot enter and send mass messages.

I do not want to make our group private as I hope it will always be an open and caring enviroment for all to join us at.

However I am disabling the group message function just as a security measure. I believe I am the only one that may have used the function (?) and anytime that YOU want to use it - just send me a PM and I will activate it as needed.

I do not want to take on the role of police (wo)man but will try to keep offensive situations from happening here. Spammers be ware!

If it is only going to be 10 degrees in Atlanta tomorrow...it better be colder up there! I can hardly move much more south!

IMPORTANT: Some of you may have received a PM/private message from Candance of an "adult" nature. Because it was sent as a PM it is showing in your home email. Now I may need an ET to explain this better but I do not believe this person actually has your home email just using the PM service on the site.

I have banned Candance from the group and they have been reported to the Administrator for the site to be banned from n4ms completely. Sorry for anyone that received the garbage email but the larger the group/site becomes the more victims we will be with spammers/advertisers, etc. If you see something of concern - please let me know asap so we can address it quickly. Thanks!
