WOW - I had to ask!!! LOL

nec.nec.nec.nec.nec.nec.nec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay here's a question for you Ms Nec # 9502 ...You are not a recruiter, I understand recruiting duty can now take place with E4s. Do recruiters change their NEC code - meaning once they do recruiting duty, they stay recruiters? I think they don't ...right? But with NCs, you physically change your rate and stay NC...right?

Boy - did I make a mess of that!!! Please feel free to remind my mind and tell me what I was trying to say................LOL

Marsher - that makes me feel alittle better. His recruiter offered to call the school today and talk with them which I thought was extremely nice of him but when i shared that with Nick tonight - he said that won't be necessary. He is dealing with an FC1 at the new school and he was a 100% confident in this FC1 ability to get the job done...they start bonding early!!! LOL

CCR, my girl - you really need to stop in more often!!! I'm thinking if Patrick broke down in uniform - he would have gotten help sooner or at least... a new girlfriend!!! Nick has only traveled twice this year and both times - he was in uniform. Last night he was sitting next to a Captain and a Commander (they were both in uniform) on the flight to DC.

Alicia, what a story! My son got charged coming and going for luggage. One seabag. 98.00 and 48.00 coming. The 98 was for overweight (hey, it WAS Christmas, right?)

I have a question. I've read everywhere where many were in uniform. My son said they told him not to be in uniform. After all, all the times he broke down, if he'd been in uniform, maybe the two police cars whizzing by him and all the other people watching him walk 2 hours in the snow in Bloomington - maybe would have stopped and helped him.

If they are going to a post, I thought they were supposed to be, but only going home for Christmas, they''re not? Or other way 'round?

Well, I had to call Nick's recruiter today - Nick is just weeks away from his one year anniversary and he found out today...his security clearance is NOT done. Why oh why is that - I'd love to ask but what would be the point! Nick was born in Japan so they needed more paperwork to address his citizenship such as form 240 and a passport. Guess the birth certificate stating USNH - Yokosuka wasn't quite enough (?!!)

At any rate, call the recruiter hoping that would still have these documents on file and he asked our last name, when I provided that...he quickly said...Nick's mom?!!! Ohhhhhhhhh my...how did he know Nick's name off the top of his head like that?!!! It's a big recruiting office and it's been almost one year, I have never baked cookies for them nor have I ever called them since the day Nick left and on top of that we have a common name - heck I cannot even make a dental appt. without using my middle initial there are so many folks with the same name as ours!

So I had to ask him...did his C school just call you??? He said no...Nick was just my first recruit when I transferred to his office and I remember him well.
I thought......goodness has he been reading the n4M site?! I did ask him if he was aware of the site and he said they do get on the website periodically but not too often.

Guess I could come up with a snazzy name or a really bad name for Nick but word is out, he is my son - I am his mom and we are in this together!! LOL

Actually Marsher had suggested a list, some of us have been hanging out in here for many months and we know each other rates but the newer members may not know that my son is an Admirial darn - letting my wine do the talking again!!! Seriously, it is a great suggestion as I hate asking...now are you an ET or FC?

SSN, SWN, SSRF........................do we want to talk NEC codes today?!

Welcome Donna to the group - ET mom! I think we need to make a list of all the ETs and all the FCs...starting to feel alittle light on FCs here - or is it my imagination?!!!

Alicia - wow....what an experience you had!

Well Nancy, that takes all the fun out of an aquarium! I always used mine during my college days as a punch bowl! It was wonderful for those blue drinks that we used to make !!!

Julie - always good to see you pop in girl. I just knew that Kyle would settle into his new home and he is going to be loving Japan! We actually have 3 sailors with the fleet now; Nancy's son is homeported out of Norfolk and Neese's son is homeported out of Mayport, FL. There could be other members with sailors at sea and I'm not aware of them. Pamela's son is actually on the ground in Iraq. We have a couple that a close to finishing school, Marsher's son has orders to the Truman but he is still in C school so bottomline when we started the group eight short months ago...some members were still trying to figure out what AECF meant and more importantly...ya mean...FC/fire control does not mean fireman?!!! LOL

Airlines thing - is typical junk - charging sailors with orders and in uniform for baggage fees,..especially since the airlines likes to charge for everything now. Nick will get his $$$ back but it just p-ed me off and I tend to get vocal when an organization like the airlines plays dumb and takes $ away from our sailors!

1:50 am...tired but happy Sailor calls. "It's really cool" I have a stove, frid., pots, pans and dishes, blinds on the window, a key card for the door and no roommates!!" He did not know if this is his permanent room as of yet. A great duty driver pick him up from Ronald Reagan and he shared alot of good info with him. Sounds like he was liking C school already!
