Intelchips ... when I was on the A school side ages ago, I was a platoon leader and we were divided into four platoons. I know it is divisions and sections now, but I think the four section duty rotation still holds, that's fairly common We had real staff in charge to sign chits and run the place, but basically it was the students in charge day to day in the barracks.

I'm speculating, hoppi will know more, although the HMs always did things differently, LOL.

He is flying out of O'hare and hoping for the best.

I cannot believe that your dad is going to see Mickie before you do!!! How did you let that happen!! LOL

Oh Kellie - so happy for you! You must be bouncing off the walls waiting for his arrival!

Nick has a few hours before his flight leaves so hopefully it won't get cancelled, they did cancel a couple coming into Atlanta. My dad just called from Detroit and said he had 8" and they were closing the airport.

Had my FIRST crying session today - we just hung the welcome home banner!

LD, give Wade a big hug from us in the AECF group - I bet he is happy to be off that bus!

It's been a long time since our son has WOKE us up - he called at 4:30 am to let us know he was on the shuttle and on his way to O'hare. Watching weather channel, they are posting that O'Hare is not experiencing any flight delays as of...yet.

So Charlotte is she stuck in Des Moines or is that home for her?

Kellie, I'm sure whatever they told Mickie will be the case. Perhaps lockdown will be from 2100 to 0300 (?) Nick was heading to bed with plans on getting up at 2 am............I think it's going to be a very long day for everyone tomorrow!

So I'm hearing that the base is going on lockdown for the evening per orders of the Sr. Chief who is in charge. So Kybessom, if Sierra got approval earlier to leave today, she is lucky and - she will miss the mad rush in the morning.

Hoping everyone's sailors make it home tomorrow safe and sound.

Hoppi - thanks for the offer, for us living in the South - a pretty snow storm, with a fire and a nice glass of............enjoy it for me...I need to be here to great my sailor!

I must share this story with you, Nick was born in Yokosuka and we loved living there. Before leaving Japan we bought him a kimona and wrote a special letter to Nick and packed it away with the kimona with intentions of giving it to him when he was big enough to appreciate it. As I'm cleaning out a closet tonight, I come across this box - open it up and it is the kimona! After a few fond tears (i'm always crying!!!) I had to call Steve to see what I found - oh the memories that kimona brought back. I remember we couldn't decide what color to buy...our 10 month old baby boy and now that baby boy is 21 yrs old and an FC himself...we decided THIS is the year that he will finally receive his kimona.

Nice Jackie, it will be good to have family so close. Millye, I was in Gulfport in April, went down to visit my Seabee nephew. He loved being stationed there. I do not know anyone in the Meterology program nor do I know anything about it so we will be learning from you Millye!

Just call me last minute Hannah here, I'm changing sheets and dusting bedrooms and so ready for tomorrow. Nick called and said that he was heading to "all hands" muster and would try to call us afterwards - perhaps they are letting them head out early ...I told him great - perhaps you will sleep at the airport tonight and tomorrow...I think he is just excited to get to the airport even if the flights are delayed - it sounds like he is ready for leave!

I did threaten to quit answering the phone - even time he calls, he adds to the grocery list. Chicken, oatmeal, power ade...I had to tell him...we don't have a galley here!

Karla - Congratulations to that brat! I know he is delighted to have it done and enjoy the holidays.

Nick finished the petty officers class yesterday and he had called the night before and said he'd be wrapping it up -- I said you graduating again? What time shall I be there?!! He may NEVER tell me when his graduations are again!!!
