There's casual sports and gyms during A school, but not much is organized. That's because school is the priority. A sailor in school MUST finish to achieve the rate, so sending him off to play soccer would short-change his career. The sports come later, at commands that are permanent duty stations. There's a lot of "it all depends" out there.

Congratulations John!!! It is so nice that he can put the program behind him for the holidays and just show up for graduation. Millye, if Claire gets to wrap her final up as well - they could be in the same graduation class. That would be nice since we have traveled this road together. Also Karla's son is ALL done - when he returns, it will be for graduation as well. They could all be in the same group!

The weather is weird all over ... six inches of snow in Vegas?! The state/city does not own snow removal equipment and can't clear the airport runways. Salt Lake got several Vegas-bound flights last night. We're going to see single digit temps this weekend in Northern Utah.

Hope everyone gets home safely! and maybe even on time ....

We sold his Jeep at his request and my car will be here for the most part for him to use but I like to rattle his sister's cage! He would never let her drive his prescious Jeep and now...he may need to borrow her car! Pay back time!!

Have a good night all!

Getting some strong rains here tonight and it was supposed to be 72 here on Friday, the rain may thru that all out of wack. Our daughter called from New Orleans tonight and I told her Nick might not make it Friday, she was excited...she was hoping to be at the airport to greet him but she won't be home until Saturday herself. She has not seen her big brother since he left for bc back in February. When I mentioned, he might want to borrow HER car for the next couple of weeks...she said something about...let it snow, let it REALLY snow!!!

Good point Nancy, wasn't thinking about the difference in price on top of the change fee. I think they are quickly squashing the rumor...sure you can leave tomorrow!

okay, let me add to the excitement! Our Sailor just called...."do you think you can change my ticket to Thursday?" Say what?!!! Yes, because of the weather they are letting us out early. I was not here when they passed the word but that is what others on the ship are telling me.

Okay - to change your ticket it's $150 ...better make sure of that. He called back five minutes later............Bad info! It seems to travel faster than good info!!!

Hope to see him Friday but mentally prepared for the flight to be delayed or even cancelled - he can hang out at O'hare for the night as long as he gets home safely!

Minneapolis doesn't have a USO listed ... it'd be perfect if they did, we got stuck there for several hours!
