I know Pamela, I promise not to jump up and down too loudly when Nick finally lands here but it will be 8 months since I've seen him. Thanksgiving was last luster as well. Holidays will be challenging for many.

Monday again Pictures, Images and Photos

Feeling the long weekend here but more importantly thinking about all I have to do before both my kids are home for the holidays. Lots of decorating, baking and shopping to do before they arrive!

Fobbits huh? Love that name but love that he never leaves the FOB Pamela!

Millye, so nice that you were able to meet with Fran. I'm sure she appreciated you taking time out for her and Stepehn.

Lisa Ann, I believe the percentage of FCs that are on the ground vs. those on the ship are significantly smaller numbers. The Navy is investing a great deal in our sailors to attend schools for almost two years. Most of the systems that our FC sailors are being trained on - are ship based systems. While orders - will be the orders - I do not believe in creating concern until there is a need to do so.

Oh, we did make it to Twilight. Felt like I was the room mom, had to be the oldest one there - all high school/college students. Heavy female audience, I think all the men were in the next theater seeing...Bond, James Bond!

Irene, I agree who would expect our sailors to be in the sandbox?! They are not corpman or MAs - right?! My hubby was an FC for 10 years and never seen the sand and he was "there" for the first Gulf war. Generally FCs are on the ship, there is not even alot of shore duty billets for FCs but Pamela's son works with CIWS and if I understand correctly C-Ram is the same system (or similiar) but it's on the ground vs. a ship. In his particular case, they asked for volunteers for IA duty. Pamela can explain it much better than I can but generally our FCs will spend a lot of time at sea.

Welcome Katie - glad that you have found us.

It seems like many of our recent PIR Sailors are FCs. They may be in the same class together but the A school at GL is self-paced and they also have alot of classrooms.

Pamela, nicely done video but our FCs do know a little bit about technology! Alot of senior FCs in that video as well, it's nice to see them smiling and having some fun over...there.

Millye ----- Twilight is still waiting for me! Didn't think I could make it thru the movie last night so got a raincheck for a matinee today. Sure is not a movie that I would choose but as you said it is all about the company! Glad that you are having a nice weekend with Claire. Hope you get to see Fran and Stephen, hugs to them.

Jackie, Jackie, Jackie --- you shopper you!!!

Enough turkey!!! I hate leftovers!!!!!!! Hope everyone had a great holiday. I did some "black Friday" shopping today but not much...I really dislike shopping but love a good deal. My best deal of the day...a great pair of slippers for ...ME for $4.99!

I capped the day off with a visit from Nancy!!! She has family that lives right here in our town. So it was great getting to gather and learning more about her!
Now my daughter is trying to con me into seeing Twilight with her this evening...she has about worn me out today!!!
