Yes, that makes sense Nancy, avoid LA. thats if he takes that way. Mary was saying there is ice around Dec 1st, so I thought going due south from GL would be better and then cut over at missouri to amarillo. I don't want him driving alone.

Mary, somewhere in the forums Hoppi explained that a car in A school requires permission and paperwork, and is not allowed during Phase 1. I can't find the discussion, so maybe someone could ask her?

Pamela, my friend Troy is an ET on the Dubuque ... small world. I doubt they've crossed paths if your son is doing IA, though. The Dubuque was hubby's ship also, when it was homeported in Sasebo.

LOL, Nancy, it was 17 from Flagstaff to Phoenix. Looks like a straight shot ... but is really not the best road for a semi.

IA = individual augmentation

They can have their car at A school Anne. Perhaps not during Phase I and they have to register the car on base to get the base pass which means it needs to be current with plate and proof of insurance.

Am I overlooking anything?

Welcome Pamela, so glad that you found us. You are our first IA and we would love to hear more about your son. How long has he been in Iraq?

We have DEP, boot camp, A school, C school and Fleet Sailors in the group but no IAs - been hearing more and more about the IA program in recent months. Did your son volunteer for IA? Do you get to hear much from him?

That could make a nice Christmas gift for our sailors - hoping we see some advancements here.

That run south from Flagstaff to Phoenix is twisty ... very pretty but neither flat nor straight.

Hubby will be home tonight, I'll ask him what way he thinks is best for a no-ice driver.
