Hi ladies, talked to our son last night...he hasn't made Admiral yet!!! It's kind of a standing joke with us, I always ask him if he has anything that I can brag about to the moms and Admiral is always at the top of the list!

He did pass his room inspection which is always a good thing and at some point recently he was made asst. duty watch coordinator. So he and the coordinator puts together the duty watches, my husband says it should mean that he no longer stands a watch however if someone does not show up for their watch - he can be called to cover it 24/7.

He did not mention the ARI situation Susan so your son must be in a different duty section. His ship was actually rewarded recently with a nice bbq for no ARI in 30 days. They are putting alot of attention on ARIs right now so it is very possible that your son's section may lose liberty Susan, hopefully it won't be for long but they are trying hard to get the message out that it won't be tolerated.

Barbara, the ATT program for FCs has not always been split up but right now they do half of it, go to A and then return for the balance of ATT. It does not add any time to their school just the order of how they go thru it.

I was told but have not been able to confirm that it was based on a recommendation from the Aegis folks. By completing ATT at the end, alot of the technical info is very fresh when they go to the C school.

Go to the beach for a day or two and look how busy you ladies have been!

Welcome Kellie, it looks like you have already gotten some good information from the group. If your financee is an FC, they don't do the full ATT program right now - they are only doing HALF of it, going to A school and then going back to ATT. They end up spending the same amount of time in GL but it is just split up so when they head off to C school - some of the technical training is very fresh.

Julie, Julie --- treasure the grandbaby and everything else will fall into place.

Jackie, I know John warmed your heart. We got a letter from Nick with similiar sentiment but he has never been really comfortable verbalizing those feelings. I will treasure that letter for life!!!

Hope all is well with everyone, be back home on Thursday but just thought I would check in.

Hey ladies, hope all is well. Checking in on you from a steamy Hilton Head tonight. Got our daughter settled into her new house after a couple of long days and we skipped over to HHI to enjoy the sun, pool and outlets for a day or two before her schedule gets crazy later this week. We are so tired and have laughed at some much today, it's really nice have a daughter.

Our son...I haven't talked to in days. He did call the house but hubby was out and do you think the kid could leave a message?! Never. He hasn't been off the base for a few weeks now so I suspect he may have gone off this weekend but no recent news from him.

For those with Sailors in SCC, they do want to wait until ATT starts as they will be moved to a new ship for that program. Comcast is still the cable service in GL. A word of caution with cable, our son used his debit card for installation and they debited him twice for the same amount within minutes of the first charge. He did contact them and they credited his account so just make sure that your Sailor checks their charges for it.

You so have it right Jackie! This morning as we were carrying box after box to the basement for loading. She said...are you smiling...because I'm leaving again?!!! Of course not baby, but how soon can I have my garage back?! Gotta love them, gotta let them grow!

Back to empty nesting ladies! We have a busy few days at our house, tomorrow we take our daughter back to college and this year she signed a year's lease so she won't be returning home for the summer next year. Although she will be four hours away, we know she is only a phone call away so in some ways it is easier than saying goodbye to Nick but we are very close and I got spoiled having her home for the summer.

Gotta to let them grow up, got to let them move on, got to have faith!

How nice it will be for that new member to have a familiar family to guide them as they start their Navy journey Jackie!

I've been seeing more and more recently that rates are filling up, A schools are backed up and enlistment numbers seem to be very strong. The job market today seems to be giving our young men and women another reason to consider the military.

CCR, with all of the new FCs coming out of boot camp - I'm thinking they are getting ready for that bigger fleet!
