We are jealous Seabee Dtr - we are 13 hours away by car so we have not seen our son since April and he will be there until November-ish but he's good about calling so we talk frequently.

He got a great job! Any time they are ready to put them thru classes for almost two years is a good thing on a number of fronts, college credits are huge and two years ...before deployment! The FCs also really enjoy their work.

Sorry to hear that for John. Nick did call and he said lock down was lifted by duty sections. His section did receive liberty but he is back into saving money mode so he was staying on base and he has duty on Sunday.

Talked to son, lock down is still in place.

They are having another "Open Captain's Mast" which I think is such a great experience for new sailors to go to. Last time they gave them overnight liberty if they attended. He said it is getting ready to rain there and it was scheduled to be held outside (?) but due to the rain it is being moved inside and not so many will get to attend. I suspect after a couple of weeks of no liberty, they may be lining up to attend today's mast!!!

making my memory come back Nancy, the taxi was set on fire but I don't know all the details. I don't believe anyone was hurt but i'm not sure that they are sailors anymore!

What a sad story Jackie. I know my son told me something about the taxi...but it's been a month or two now and I don't remember the details. I'm sure someone can relay it better than me.

Hey Heather, I had also found the site and even tried to email the sailor that runs it but perhaps his address is changed as it bounced back to me. My old FC husband was surprised as how much information that put on the web today. So much of it used to be very controlled.

Heather looks great in her uniform!!!
