Ordered the banner. Found out Patrick enjoyed the concert. Said everyone was "sitting there", so he went down and joined the mosh pit! LOL. Just like him. Do not know date for A school being over. He says he is now a little behind, but he is making very good marks and that is more important his proctor said. He just bought a playstation 3. Why did I bother bringing all his games and playstation and guitar hero? I could have really used that guitar hero...

Welcome Jennifer! Sorry you had to filter thru 60 pages but you will find alot of great info and support here. So if you have questions - just ask! There are various stages of FCs here from boot camp to fleet sailors. We know you are counting the days down to PIR - what a great weekend that will be for you and your sailor!

Ordered my welcome home banner, although we won't be able to use it for a few months. It appears many folks are ordering them and they are getting backed up. Also took time to send them a thank you for support our troops. They look like wonderful banners for the cost of just shipping.

Mary, where did I miss that Nick is on the Mustin? PM me with the room #. I'll tell my son to see if he knows him. Patricks on the 2nd floor. I am so busy, I have stacks of stuff I'm trying to finish. (Not to even mention the outside chores, but thank God I have fruit and vegetables out the ying yang) I can't always keep up with this thread. I have personally not been able to keep up with the newbies. (not necesarily new to the Navy, but to ET/FC group.) Could we start a thread on the discussion forum where everyone introduces themselves, their children, and where they stand in the process? I know they've done it but I dont' have time to go back through all the pages. Introductions for members. And even ourselves to introduce ourselves to them without them having to read 60 pages. OK I"ll start it.

Jackie, we were at mare Island from 88-92. I thought it was a beautiful base.

I'm sure our Sailors probably grumble over 'mandatory" events but as a mom, I'm secretly glad they do these things as I suspect as Millye started...some of them would never take advantage and although forced to...they just might have a good time!

Our son is in the Mustin and he had internet installed, no contract if I remember correctly. He was looking at the wireless cards but didn't like the speed --- he's a gamer too Nancy!

I've sent our son a couple of packages thru the post office - do not pay extra for overnight as they won't get it anyways!

He likes to keep peanut butter, ramen noodles, tuna for his room. I also included some plastic silverware and plates which he really appreciated having.

My this site gets so busy somedays! So glad that John is off those crutches - did he go dancing at the concert?!!! Haven't heard from Nick since Thursday, I know he had duty on Friday so wonder if he attended the concert or not but I know on his next call I will be asking about the band! That always freaks him out a tad...we know what's going on in GL before he can tell me. hehehe

Jackie - our sr. twidgetts must be getting old, Steve was at Mare Island, CA and they closed that base down too. Nick was born in Japan but our daughter was born in Mare Island.

I miss Captain kangaroo, perhaps you heard he passed away recently.

LD, I don't know how often they do the random testing but it seems frequently and Nick always seems to get snagged!

Steve has been really impressed with his conversations with Nick now that he is actually in A school. Twidgett jr. must feel like ---- he is almost taking another test when they talk!!! Steve was an FC instructor for about four years.

Have fun with your sister today - I wish mine lived closer so we could do those things more often!
