Morning ladies, got a great call from our son last night. He said his A school has ETs, FCs, ICs and GMs in the class but with it being self paced, they have sailors coming and going every day.

Duty. I called Patrick back on Saturday while we were on the boat at Moody Gardens. Watcha doin? I says. "Playing video games." Oh, you have off this week-end? No, he says, "I'm on duty". OK, at least he's making good use of those 4 suitcases of luggage before the rates on baggage went up....

If John has duty while you are there, will it just be a matter of working around his watch or will you not be able to see him at all that day? Nick had watch at 4 am on Thursday, then off to class.

I used to go to the base on my husband's duty days and have dinner together so I was still able to see him, he just couldn't leave.

Perhaps it's possible that he can trade duty while you are there (?) Our son is pulling duty Tues, Thurs and Sat. this week as he traded duty last weekend so he could have a full liberty weekend.

Burnt cookies may still be appreciated as long as momma made them!

Although I'm not going to be in GL to have fun with you ladies, our son said they are only doing a 1/2 day of school on Thursday and then will have liberty until Sunday at 9 pm. Of course, they have to work around their duty days.

Jackie - I have heard the same thing that Nancy is sharing. They usually won't approve leave while they are in school. Perhaps with John being so far ahead in the class that might help (nice job John!) but please keep us posted.

Would love to see any photos that you can share - I would just be happy to see our son's room...clean and everything in it's spot!!!

Welcome Chrystal to the group, we look forward to hearing about your son. Do you know what rate he will be after boot camp is completed?
