Class leader jackie - you know he is doing great! Wow, if he is still on pain meds and his weight still hurts, I cannot see them letting him off the crutches yet unless they can put him in one of those walking boots.

I love it when my twidgett boys talk the language - so very cool!

Jackie - is he still on crutches? I had asked Nick last night if he knew anyone on crutches at A school...any he said...which ONE? It sounds like there a few Sailors hobbling around!

More lost time from school this week. Pass in Review today and ...drug test yesterday. Nick says he has been picked for every drug test given but one since landing in A school.

But his cold sounds much better today!

Karla, I cannot give you any recent information. I used to take Amtrak from Detroit to Chicago and it was very efficient and clean but it's been alot of years. You could probably go to their website and get some good info.

I would suspect that the train station by the base runs to O'hare. It's probably much cheaper and faster than doing a taxi. I think it is called Metra but I'm sure someone can set me straight.

FC moms - our "in house FC" sailor Jennifer was kind enough to pull together some information on C schools. She posted it in the C school forum above.

Thanks Jennifer!!!

I think they can only spend so much time in GL without getting restless. Nick has been there for five months ALREADY and still has four months to go. He may not care where his C school is as long as it is anywheres but GL!

I don't have a handle on the my space and facebook stuff! Although I did get to see some great pictures of my son last week, my daughter was on her facebook and she and Nick are "Friends" so I was able to take a peak. He looked really good and was hanging out with a few girls. No surprise, that boy has had a girlfriend since pre-school!!!

I am getting such a kick out of all these recent posts. Carolyn, I don't have texting on my phone, but if I did, I would probably only say Hi also.
Marsher, I also just got my first ever e-mail from my son. He says I don't e-mail, answered my questions and said go to my space and message me. So if thats what it takes to converse with him, I will. I hate that he stays in his barrack on week-ends though, I think a change of scenery would cheer him up.
