Julie, I get our sailors confused too...in fact I was thinking my son just started C school and then I realized - NO, that's Julie's son that started C school!!! lol

Kyle is in the FC program.

Oh yea! Another one starting A school, but Kyle is exciting too!

Julie are you awake again?!!!!

Go to sleep Julie! I checked out the photos - nicely done. Thanks for sharing what a current graduation looks like today. It looked like a good size graduation class. My nephew just graduated from A school in Gulfport and the whole ceremony took less than 30 minutes!

I like the smaller classes too for many reasons and I suspect it is a 100% FCs now and they all have the same focus.

One of the FCs in Dahlgreen's C school was kind enough to share that there is only about 300 people on that base and mostly all FCs and civilian workers.

Great Julie, I will be checking those out. Can you tell us what the graduation was like? Back in the day when my husband was in, they were not very eventful. Short speech, hand shake and certificate, in their classroom and there was very few guests if any. I suspect with the power of this site and everyone's ability to travel, there maybe more guests at A and C school graduations. Can you tell us what it was like?

Jackie, glad to hear that John got those antibotics in him today, hopefully they will start provide some relief quickly.

Finally Nancy! Was hoping that we got to hear about your travels as well! lol.

I can imagine being in Boston for the 4th was quite an event but the most important one was spending time with your Sailor!

So nice to hear from everyone about their travels to see their sailors...trying hard to get over my jealousy that I didn't make the trip to GL! So glad that everyone enjoyed ...photos are welcome!

You are so right Millye, for everyone but Nancy - we are just in the beginnings of a six year stretch (at least) here. Sharing and supporting one another is what will carry us thru as those orders become real and we start facing our first deployments.

On a different note - just got a bonus call from our son. Two calls...two days in a row! He is heading back to class this evening and had done so yesterday as well. He aced a test yesterday and was pretty pumped up about it. Today they were cleaning out the rooms and gave him some electronics books that he seemed happy to have. His focus seems to be really inplace at A school...may it continue!!!

Because I value my friendships on this site, I prefer not to get involved any political discussions.

Politics is such an emotional subject but especially when our sons and daughters are serving our country.

Wanda, the only frustration that our son has expressed with his FC school in GL, is it is too computer driven and not enough hands on. I think it was especially true in ATT, sitting in front of a computer all day reading and then at the end there is a short test for each module.

It's nothing like boot camp at all! They do have long days in classes and they have watch every fourth day but they have liberty every night until 9 pm and on the weekends when they are not on duty. They have one roommate vs. 80!!! And they can have their cell phone and laptops so you can talk to her much more often! Nothing like boot camp at all :-)
