LOL, McNavy Mom... that just made my morning! I am actually going back to school in March to study theology and become a chaplain - minister... these folks absolutely drive me insane. I have NO idea how they invoke the name of God in their ideals. Seriously, we must be reading different bibles and religious texts! I guess love thy neighbor must have been blacked out for these folks...

LOL...oh he certainly likes to be inflammatory, doesn't he. The scary part is that people actually believe that...understand - I think they've all lost their minds late..but I'm telling you some of these people need a serious reality check....

I would agree, Inga.. some of the assertions I hear are fantastical indeed!! :)

I am sooo enjoying reading these posts! I really have never understood how anyone could think that the military is solely comprised of Conservative Republicans. That's just plain ridiculous. The notion that anyone who has a more progressive view has some type of aversion to our military is absurd. I think it finds its base all the way back during the Vietnam War when people saw protesters as anti-military and anti-soldier. And some certainly did forget in their actions what exactly they were protesting. However, most protested the war not the military. 40 years later that is still in the American psyche.
I would say that I am somewhere in the middle - socially progressive - fiscally
in the middle. I would also say that I am disgusted by all the partisan rhetoric in Washington and can only shake my head at the hypocrisy.
When we go to help someone in dire need - buried by an earthquake, bleeding from a gunshot, etc.. do we stop to ask - What is your political affiliation? Where do you go to church? Where were you born? Who do you love? NO. We don't and we shouldn't. What exactly do these "conservatives" think that our troops are protecting? Isn't it civil liberty? Isn't it freedom - of speech, or religion, or political belief, etc? If we don't live up to our own standards - then how do we place these devoted men and women - our sons, daughters, husbands, and wives in harms way?? Just curious..

Inga, it's the same old thing...insecure small people have to look down on any one different than they are, hence....all that nonsense about one party is more patriotic, the military has no liberals, all that stuff. Hell, if there had never been liberals fighting, we'd still be chatting in the Queen's English!

My son knows many other liberals besides himself in the military...and all those liberal and moderate corpsmen agree on one thing .... all Marines and sailors bleed the same color, and liberal and moderate corpsmen don't stop to ask if their moms are rw twits on military boards insulting them.. they save their asses anyway!. Ha!

I ask you now, who are the true patriots? (not to mention adults!)

Karen, I deleted it without the pictures, it's the kind of thing that makes the nutcases on N4M go wild with glee...and I refuse to participate in their rapture!
