You need to find ways to take care of yourself, the best way to support a loved one in the military is to take care of yourself, stay busy, have things to talk about when you talk besides "i miss you" ..."when are you coming home"...etc. Go to the gym, work out, find a good book, a movie, paint a room do something besides sit around and obsess on what you cannot change. He'll be fine and wants to hear that everyone at home is fine and proud of his work.

Laura, it's sad that you didn't have much time together, but the US military is exactly who should be the first in line in this crisis. He'll be working hard, with others just like him, and they will be fine. I'm concerned about what things they will see, but also proud about the relief that they will bring to thousands of people, including little children whose world has turned upside down.

One of our corpsman moms was/is a chief in the USN, she was out but now is back in and on her way there as part of a special team, probably for forensics type stuff. Many more will follow, your boyfriend is part of a huge team. He'll be fine, and will have some stories to tell when he returns. I hope they establish a way to communicate quickly and a way to send mail and packages to our military while they are there very soon.

It truly is, how much hatred can so called "good Christians" harbor in their hearts? The Haitian ambassador responded to Robertson's BS on Rachal Maddow, she was so embarrassed, even tho everyone knows she and Robertson have little in common other than both being citizens of the USA. Senile old goat needs to be off the air, and that young woman sitting there should have cut him off and led him off the set to his meds.

USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), USS Bataan (LHD 5) embarked with Marines from the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU 22), USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43), and USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) were ordered to get underway as soon as possible. Additionally, USS Normandy (CG 60), USS Underwood (FFG 36) and USS John L. Hall (FFG 32) will deploy from their homeports and stand ready to assist, while USNS Comfort (T-AH-20), homeported in Baltimore, Md., is preparing to get underway, if required

Good for your sailor, Steve, it's fun watching them change, isn't it? he's gaining confidence!

my newspaper crawl produced this : Bachmann shuts up on census All her trash talk on not filling out the census has backfired on her! If the numbers change for her state, her district will be the one eliminated! HA!

I guess if brain washed people are stupid enough to be pulling guns on their families and friends for being Democrats, anything's believeable, those nut cases won't fill out the census forms and will lose all types of federal aid and money for their state...and Bachmann!! ( the silver lining...!)

I think the biggest blunder about Rush's statement was the fact that we know we have amazing health care in the USA, it's the fact that it's not available to ALL Americans on a level playing field...HE had health insurance, what a dope, all this time he hasn't had a clue what the debate has been about, it's just "NO". dumbshit.
