Hey there GA families. :] I'm new to the site and still getting used to the layout. My fiancé is currently going through the paperwork of joining, and he hopes to be a Nuke. I'm not naive about how hard him being gone is going to be on me, so I've joined a few Navy forums to gather information, and meet people who are going through the same things. I'm hoping to get a good support group with online friends and friends I'm living by, so far I've met some wonderful people. :]

We just moved to Leesburg, GA. I'm a Florida native, so I currently don't know anyone here. We moved back in with my fiancé's mother and brother, so we can try and get everything in order before he leaves.  When he leaves I plan on going back to South Florida to be with family and friends for the 2 months he's at BT.

Anyways, before I get too long winded, which I tend to do, I'll end it now. Just saying hi to all the people here. :] I'm always open to new friends, and advice, so feel free to share your thoughts, or anything that might help.

Welcome to NavyforMoms! We support each other. If you have any questions then ask away and some one will be able to help. It is a great adventure. You get to make many friends. They have meet/greet: lunches where you meet everyone and have lunch. We just had one today in Ga. We had a great time. I would advise going to them when you have one in Ga. or Fl.It really is a great support goup.We have a couple of moms that ldidn't know each other until they met each other-got talking and realize their sons were on the same ship. You just never know how small this world really is. I hope you have a great time being in the Navy Family. I hope to hear from you soon. Good Luck.
Does anyone know a good Naval recruiter in the Atlanta Georgia area? My son just recently finished his first year of college and has decided that he wants to possibly go into the Navy. I have heard some horrible recruitment stories and am very nervous about him talking to just anyone. We live in Locust Grove, Georgia which is about 30 miles south of Atlanta. Any help would be appreciated. He is considering Seals or EOD (not really sure what that is). Thank you.
