Welcome Sherry - If you haven't already done so, you should join your PIR group. Check out the Bootcamp Moms page for information on what to expect. They don't call it a roller coaster ride for nothing! My son is currently in Great Lakes going through A School for Corpsman and has 4 weeks left. He will more than likely being going FMTB (train with the Marines).

Mary - It would really, really be rough making a trip to Hawaii to visit your son!! wink wink!! I feel like my kids still have me pulled in two directions. Each wants time and they are 19 and 20!! Then I have a four year old on top of that, but it keeps me young I guess!!

Finally a break in the heat this coming weekend!!! Yay!

Hi Sherry and welcome!

Yes, you post that recruit's first name or say what division and/or your PIR date is and hopefully that other mom is a member here and would love to connect with you.

Looking forward to some quality time with my daughter this week. She and her hubby are in town for a few days from Watertown, NY. Her hubby is a solder and she is six months pg so we are going shopping for the baby today as they will be setting up the nursery soon! Then we are looking at slipping up to Chattanooga tomorrow and enjoying the town. I love taking the trolley ride and have always enjoyed their aquarium.

Hello Everyone!
I have just join the Ga Navy Moms, I am very new to all this and it looks very confusing. But, decided to give it a try. It will be nice to talk to other mothers in the same boat..hahaha..as myself. One reason I decided to join, my daughter has made a friend at boot camp and she too lives in GA. Thought it would be nice if I could locate her mom. Will it be all right to put her first name in the post and where they live in hopes of locating her mom?

sailordawgmom - Go see him!!! Isn't it a good thing that they are pushing the school now? I thought I had read at one point they were terribly behind, what state is his school located in?

We are waiting to hear from our son so we can make Christmas plans. He has not been home since early November and is currently deployed. We are so anxious to see him needless to say and ready to go to Hawaii (if we must!!) but feel like he might want to come home for the holidays so he can see friends, etc and just get off the island for awhile. However our daughter is due with our first grandbaby Dec. 14th and she wants us in NY for Christmas. Nick has already said...he does want to take leave in upstate NY and be on an Army base!! Decisions, decisions!!

On a bright note, our daughter and her hubby are on their way to Atlanta now. It will be the first time we have seen her hubby since he returned from Iraq so they spent a few days in Florida with his family and are on their way to our home for a few days and we get to go baby shopping tomorrow!

Hope everyone is doing great. Any PIRs this week?

Love the pictures!
Our son will be helping carry the US flag on the field at the SD Chargers and D Cowboys game tomorrow. We are trying to find some place that is televising it.

Carolyn, we are still waiting on all the details. He told me they did a talent show already but today's activities are a big part of it and ceremony follows...I'll hoping the ship posts photos on their facebook page tomorrow.
